Live Laugh & Let it Be

Hi Friends,

Are you ready for a Pinterest inspired post?  Some of the girls at Bella Blvd were recently given this image (found on Pinterest) and asked to create a layout or a card with it.  I took inspiration from all the colors and the gold circular dots.

Using this image here is what I came up with:

Live Laugh and Let it Be

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut feathers out of vellum paper and embellished them with enamel
dots and gold confetti pieces before layering them with Bella Blvd Saltwater and Oreo-Black feathers.  I love the look combined with the Snapshots collection.  It is so playful and fun just like the teen girls in my photo.

Supplies:
Snapshots: Hurry Up!, Borders Snapshots, Daily Details Snapshots
Trick Or Treat: Leaf Storm
Cardstock Stickers: Alpha + Bits Trick Or Treat, Captions Trick Or Treat, Captions Snapshots
Feathers: Oreo-Black, Saltwater
Crochet Hearts: Saltwater

Beach Fun

Hi everyone,

Wow, I just realized that it has been over a week since I have blogged.  We have been busy with the kids starting back to school and getting back into a routine, etc.  I have a fun layout to share with you today.  A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  We played on the beach all day and then walked along the boardwalk and rode the rides in the evening.  Here is a quick layout that I made using one of our pictures from the beach.

Beach Fun Layout

I am loving the confetti, sequins and vellum trend.  This layout came together quickly after I decided to cut strips of vellum and sew them up as pockets.

Papers and embellishments are from Crate's "The Pier" collection.  They were perfect for my beach themed layout and made this layout come together quickly.
Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with a new layout for Bella Blvd using their new CHA Snapshots line (love)!

Life Paper Scrapbook August Color Challenge

Hi Everyone!

Today we have the August Colour Challenge for you over at
Life Paper Scrapbook and some of the super talented ladies from the team are sharing their take on the challenge.

This was such a fun challenge to play along with.  I not only took inspiration from the colors but also by the stripes on the arm warmers.

Loved Layout
I punched out all these squares with a punch and then lined them up on my page. There was 64 squares total and the process probably would have been a lot faster if I hadn't gone through the painstaking detail to make sure all of the patterns on the squares lined up.

I folded each square in half and popped some of them up with foam squares.

supplies:
pattern papers: Bella Blvd
cardstock: black, white (American Crafts)
glitter cardstock: gold, silver (American Crafts)
feathers: Bella Blvd
crochet heart: Scallop (Bella Blvd)

This month's color sponsor is American Crafts

Hi there,

I hope you are having a great week.  We are still getting on the back to school schedule this week.   I have a fun layout to share with you today using the new Pier collection from Crate Paper.  I had my eye on this collection for quite some time and was ecstatic when a brand new store in our area started carrying it.

I cut these fun mustaches out using my Silhouette cameo and backed them with some dark brown cardstock (Rocky Road by American Crafts) I loved the fun look that it gave my layout.  I added some fun 3d embellishments and sequins.

Monday Morning Challenge: Focus on the square

Hi there!  I hope your Monday is off to a great start.  I just dropped my son off for his first day of school.  I am excited for him and a little sad that this will be his last year in elementary school (6th grade).  It sure goes fast.

I have a fun layout to share with you today.  I am taking part in the Monday Morning challenge over on the Bella Blvd blog today.  Our challenge was to focus on squares, whether it be square elements, square photos, or square embellishments or a combination of them all.

Here is what I made for the challenge:

Hello Beach Layout

The new Snapshots collection by Bella Blvd was perfect for my recent photos that I took of the kids at Santa Cruz beach. When I first started this assignment, I laid out several small Instagram photos spread all over my page. This layout took on several changes and I ultimately decided to go for a cleaner look with 1 large focal point photo and a two smaller Instagram photos.  For a fun look I added text to my photos before printing them and added a cardstock polaroid die-cut from the Snapshots collection to my large photo.

 Supplies:
Snapshots: Daily Details, Pajama Day, Free Time, Hurry Up, Rise & Shine, Tabs, Paper Pieces; Daily Chevies: Gulf Arrows, Pickle Juice Arrows; Feathers: Bell Pepper, Ice; Button Market: Fruit Punch, Masculine Mix

August Sketch Challenge

Hi there!
I hope you all are enjoying a nice start to your weekend.  Today is the day to share with you my first Sketch Challenge over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  I am a little excited and giddy about this because it is my first project that I have created for LPS, and it was totally fun!

I have been eyeing the Sweet Shoppe collection from Lily Bee for awhile and finally decided to break down and purchase a few pieces.  I love the way the patterns in this collection compliment my black and white photos of my kids goofing around and sharing a few jokes at the park.  My layout started out true to the sketch with a large circle behind my photos.  But then it took on a whole new direction.  Does that ever happen to you?  lol.  After moving my photos around I decided to go with a large vellum square piece as my backdrop instead.  I still kept plenty of circles on my layout with my Lily Bee sweet shoppe stickers and Atlantic pieces.

Here is what I created..

Love You Berry Much layout

supplies:
Lily Bee Designs Sweet Shoppe circle tags and stickers, lollipop pattern paper, licorice whip pattern paper, lemon drop pattern paper, jelly bean pattern paper
Freckled Fawn: wood chips
Studio Calico: Atlantic sequins, gold stars, wood pieces, brad, die cut arrow
American Crafts: Jute twine - Natural

Altered Burlap Shadow box frame

Hi there! I hope you are having a great Thursday so far!  We just got back last night from a fun trip to Santa Cruz beach boardwalk.  We had never been there before and there was so much to do.  The kids had a blast and I will have to share pictures later this week.

I have a fun project to share with you today.  I recently received this shadow box frame in the mail from Scrapbook Trends magazine and decided to use it to create a new project for my craft room.
This was super easy and I just love how it turned out.

Altered Burlap Shadow Box Frame

The frame came with glass, which I took out and decided not to use. I covered the backing of the frame with burlap and adhered with staples. I then gathered papers from some of my favorite Pebbles inc. and punched them out using a butterfly punch from EK Success. I punched two butterflies from each pattern paper and then adhered them to the frame.

To create dimension, I simply folded the top butterflies in half before adhering them down.

This was a super easy project and I just love that it brightens up my craft room!
