Shimelle 5 Things with Titles

I was so excited to be asked to share a 5 Things post on the Shimelle blog last week!  My post was about how to create 5 Things with different types of titles.  When I saw the Shimelle collection I was instantly taken with the bold shades of pink, turquoise, and orange. I love color, and gladly embrace it any chance that I get!  I couldn’t wait to dive into the glittery rub-ons, die-cuts with gold foil and embossed images, wood veneer, layered stickers and printed cork pieces.  I also fell in love right away with the two packs of Thickers letter stickers, included in the collection. I couldn’t wait to get the collection in my hot little hands and create with it. And, even though I love Thickers (I do, I really do!) and hoard them any chance I get, I couldn’t wait to create my own custom titles. Which brings me to my post – five ideas for scrapbooking with creative titles.

Shine

Creating a sequin title is easy and creates a big impact on a project. The idea to create a sequin title came to me while I was at the craft supply store looking at ribbons and I saw sequins sold by the roll. Because they are already stitched together they are easy to manipulate, position and use. To create my sequin title I first cut the word “shine” with my silhouette and then used the negative piece as a stencil. I used liquid glue to adhere the word down. I found that it was easiest to adhere the word down while the template was still in place, otherwise the word moved to much and fell out of place. To finish, simply cut off the excess from the sequin roll and make sure that the ends are glued down well so that none of the sequins fall off.

I'll be back next week to share some more of my layouts that I created for the Shimelle blog!  Thanks for looking!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!  I love the costumes, the candy, and the crisp Fall air.  Can you tell that Fall just happens to be my favorite season?  So, I was over the moon excited when American Crafts sent me this brand new exclusive line they made for Target.  It is not available on their website, so hurry and run to your closest Target store to get your fix!

October 31st Layout

When I first laid eyes on this fun Halloween 6x6 Paper Pad I knew right away that I wanted to make a fun patterned pieced background.  I cut these pieces using my Silhouette Cameo then carefully stitched them down on my layout.

I was so in love with the fun sequins that come with this collection that I decided to take out a row of paper strips and adhere them down using my This To That Adhesive.

Hi friends!
I hope you all are enjoying a nice start to your weekend.  Today is the day to share with you the September Sketch Challenge over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  I love that this sketch boasts lots of layers, totally fun!

Here is what I created..

Sun and Sand Layout

I was inspired by all the fun layers in the sketch to cut strips of pattern paper and layer it behind a sequin vellum pocket.  I  used the Pier collection by Crate paper on this layout, it has been a favorite of mine lately.

Beach Fun

Hi everyone,

Wow, I just realized that it has been over a week since I have blogged.  We have been busy with the kids starting back to school and getting back into a routine, etc.  I have a fun layout to share with you today.  A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  We played on the beach all day and then walked along the boardwalk and rode the rides in the evening.  Here is a quick layout that I made using one of our pictures from the beach.

Beach Fun Layout

I am loving the confetti, sequins and vellum trend.  This layout came together quickly after I decided to cut strips of vellum and sew them up as pockets.

Papers and embellishments are from Crate's "The Pier" collection.  They were perfect for my beach themed layout and made this layout come together quickly.
Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with a new layout for Bella Blvd using their new CHA Snapshots line (love)!
