Girls weekend

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! I though that it would be fun today to share some pictures from my girls weekend last week.

I spent the whole weekend with my good friends Tricia Wilson and Suzy West, to celebrate Tricia's birthday.
We had a little party for her all set when she got to my house and then we spent the
day antiquing, wining, dining and scrapping. Perfect day!

The Birthday girl Tricia:

Here are some photos of one of the antique stores that we went to in Elk Grove, called the Red Door.

I just loved all of the stuff in this store!

I might have to go back to get that muffin tin, and the green basket that is holding it. I love the color.

In the evening we went to dinner at the Cheescake Factory. And I tried their famous Chinese Chicken salad. It was awesome!

I came home with a couple of great finds. I bought this old chalkboard and a cool set of baskets that will be perfect to hold my scrapbook supplies.
After spending the whole day shopping, we were pretty tired and didn't get much scrapping done. But we had a great time, talking, laughing and spending time together. I love my girlfriends, I would be lost without them.

Birthday party favors

Hi friends,

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far, ours has been filled with many trips to the pool and birthday parties! We just celebrated my son's 10th birthday this weekend and I thought that it would be fun to make party favors featuring Bella! new fusion line and decoupage party pieces.

Birthday wish treat box:

I created the treat box using my Silhouette Cameo and 3d pyramid gift box cutting file by Lori Whitlock. Bella! fusion papers fit nicely with the party theme.

and a little something for the girls that came to the party (I added a pearl to this one, to bling it up a bit):

I used Bella! silver and white lace tape to decorate the boxes, and added sentiments and presents from the decoupage party collection. I just love how these came together, so much better than a store bought treat box.

Very simple and easy to make, and sure to be a big hit with the kids too!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope my party favors have inspired you to make your own for your next event!

the good life....

Wow, can't believe it has been a whole week since I've blogged. Where do I start? Things have been pretty busy around here. On Saturday I went on a trip with this special lady:

My daughter Kalee started 8th grade at a new school:
(that's her on the right)

And Matthew turned 10!

We had a special day together. I took him out to lunch, to the cards and comic book store, to pick out some video games at GameStop and he got a new Airsoft rifle for his birthday. He was so excited!

His expression cracks me up, the gun is bigger than he is!

We have also been very busy with cheer and football season:

It has been challenging to find the time to scrapbook. But with both kids back in school next week, I am determined to get back into it.

I created 1 layout this week using the new Summer of '69 kit by Studio Calico:

That's it for now, I will hopefully be back next week with some pics from Matthew's birthday party this weekend. We are going paintballing! Have a great weekend!

enjoying spring break

I love April, it is one of my favorite month's of the year. The kids are home all month (off -track), the springtime weather is really nice which means lots of outside play, visiting parks and long walks around our neighborhood and lake.

Another thing that I love about April is Kalee's birthday. Yes Kalee's birthday was on Saturday and I am now a mother of a 12 year old. How did that happen so quickly? Seems like just yesterday she was in diapers, and just learning how to walk.

I am very proud of her. She is growing into a beautiful young lady and I am very lucky to be her mother.
Since the kids have been home all week I haven't had a whole lot of time to myself. I have been finishing up some projects but most of them are for calls so I can't show them yet. I got a card picked up the other day for the September edition of Cards Magazine. :) woot woot! I wish I could show it to you, it is one of my favorites (using Echo Park for the Record and Epiphany Crafts). Hopefully September will come soon, so that I can show it to you in print. :)

Be back tomorrow with some fun cards that I am finishing up today!
