Paper Camellia Guest Designer!!

I'm guesting this month over at Paper Camellia!  Paper Camellia's June Kit is bursting with bits and pieces from Pink Paislee's Citrus Bliss collection.

When I first got the kit in the mail I was so excited upon opening it!  It has so many fun papers and embellishments from some of my favorite manufacturer's!

And check out these fun exclusives that you get in the main kit this month!
Acrylic Words (Summer, Fun, Sun) - Paper Camellia Exclusive
Wood Veneer - Paper Camellia Exclusive

Here are 3 layouts that I created with the lovely June Kit!

Inspired by the Chickaniddy tags, I decided to create this layout filled with tags.  I added some drops of paint, and stitching to complete the page.

I was immediately drawn to the 7 Paper Baxter 016 paper by Studio Calico, included in the main kit.  I couldn't wait to get that fun paper on a page.  So I paired it with two of my favorite things, a die cut background and watercolors!

For my third and final layout, I used one of my favorite basic shapes, hearts!  I cut out hearts and then trimmed them in half, I put them back together on a white ledger background, and embellished with ink, stamps, machine stitching, thickers, brads and embellishments.  I even managed to sneak a little journaling in there too.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today, and be sure to stop by the Paper Camellia store to pick up their June 2015 kit.  It is filled with awesome!

Live Simply

Hi,

I have a new layout to share for The Cut Shoppe today, made using two new cut files from the shop.  I have been in awe of all of the projects that I have seen lately in the scrapbooking world using the new hand cut lettering trend.  I was so excited when Ashley decided to add this adorable alphabet to the shop.

Here is the layout that I created using the new Now I Know My ABC's alpha.

Live Simply

My layout was inspired by a quote that I found on Pinterest.
How To:  I added some watercolors to my white background paper and then adhered my title using repositionable adhesive.  I used a ruler to make sure that my title was straight and then used a sewing machine to stitch the letters down.  I added a few embellishments, Funky Florals flowers and photos.  I finished by dropping a few flicks of black paint on the page.

Here are the cut files that I used on my layout:

Make sure that you stop by The Cut Shoppe and pick these fun cut files up.  These are files that you're sure to use over and over again.

La La Love You

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are having a great week so far.  I have a fun layout to share with you today  that I recently made using a couple of awesome files from The Cut Shoppe.  When I saw this beautiful heart background, I knew right away that I just had to use it on a layout.

I added watercolor paints behind a couple of hearts and added the title to the right hand side of the layout.  While adding black spray mist to my layout, I accidentally dropped the bottle.  Oops.  But I kind of fell in love with the large blot of ink that it left behind, so I left it in.  After all, art is supposed to be subjective right?

Here are the background files that I used:

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my layout.  If you create a layout using The Cut Shoppe cut files, we would love to see them.  Be sure to share your projects with us by linking them up on our Facebook page.  We have a fun team up scheduled tomorrow with Clique Kits, be sure to stop by the The Cut Shoppe blog (starting at 10 am CST or 8 am PST) for your chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the shop!

American Crafts DT May Gallery

Hi everyone!

I have some projects to share with you today that I made for the American Crafts DT May Gallery.  I love that we are able to mix and match their collections, including collections from their other brands.  Here are two layouts that I made using the wonderful Studio Calico Wanderlust collection ~ So fun!

Wonder

Photo of my Daughter and her friends on promotion day from Jr. High - to High School.  I can't believe it has been a year already, she is finishing up the school year tomorrow and then it is on to her Sophomore year.

I used the Wanderlust collection again on my second layout and threw in some Maggie Holmes Styleboard brads ~ love those!

Pretty Clever

This is layout is about my niece Miranda.  This photo was taken shortly after her graduation from high school and now she is studying at UC Santa Cruz.  I'm so proud of her and feeling so old.  Really where does the time go?

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you enjoyed my layouts today~

You & Me - American Crafts April Gallery Layout

Hi everyone,
Good afternoon!  Wow, the month of April sure flew by fast.  I can't believe it is going to be May this week.  I have a layout to share with you today for the American Crafts April gallery.

The first layout that I made for the gallery is of my two adorable nieces.  Sophia is 5 and baby Olivia is 8 weeks.  They make the perfect subjects to scrap!

You and Me Layout

To create my layout, I started by cutting a 12x12 background with my Silhouette Cameo, then I used it as a mask to spray mist the background.  I also cut a few additional pieces (the same size as the drops in the mask) out of Amy Tangerine Plus One paper, and used a sewing machine to sew them down.

I used a mix of Amy Tangerine Plus One, Cut and Paste, Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic, SC Printshop, SC Lemon Lush and Crate Paper Oh Darling on my layout.  I love being able to mix and match the lines that AC and their sub companies make.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will be back tomorrow with another new layout :)  Have a good one!

American Crafts February Gallery layout / Matt Man

***If you are looking for the American Crafts blog hop go here ***

Hi everyone,
I have another fun layout to share today for the American Crafts February Gallery.  Once again, I used the super fun papers and embellishments from the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection.   I recently bought these fun hand drawn stars from Two Peas and after cutting a few, was totally inspired to create a background out of them.

Matt Man layout

I love the plain chipboard thickers in this collection.  They look great by themselves or you can spruce them up.

I added some stamping with Plus One stamps and Hero Arts white shadow ink (my favorite).  This layout came together quickly after adding a few sequins and wood embellishments.  So fun!
supplies: American Crafts: (Plus One Collection) Accompany Large clear acrylic stamps, Mixtape, matte puffy accent stickers, Bits, flair adhesive badges, natural chipboard thickers, peer paper, match paper, doubles paper, counterpart paper; Studio Calico: wood veneer stars (Printshop)

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Good Life

Hi everyone,

I finally had some time this weekend to sit down and play with Studio Calico's Printshop collection.  I know, I am way behind the times because this came out awhile ago, but some of the pieces I was waiting for were backordered.

Can, I just say I love this collection so much!  I am totally hooked on the colors and patterns.  I threw in some super awesome die cuts from The Paper Bakery Love Potion #9 Scrapbook kit and some flair and cork paper from American Crafts DIY Shop collection that just debuted at CHA.

I added in some stamping from Amy Tangerine's  Cut and Paste collection, and some messy stitching.
The messy stitching was an accident my sewing machine for some reason is going hay wire. lol

Sometimes I scrap more clean lined and sometimes I scrap more messily (if that makes sense).  I find that I can get more creative when it is more messy and add in more things like stamps and things that I otherwise forget about.  Do you always stick to a theme?  Or do you sometimes mix it up?  Do you find one way to be more freeing and more creative than the other?

Thanks for stopping by!  I will be back later this week with some more project reveals!

Studio Calico crop layouts

Hi everyone,

I have a couple of layouts to share with you today.  Over the weekend I took part in the Studio Calico crop #SCCROP2014.

The first one that I made was for Challenge #2 color challenge by Carissa Wiley. Papers and embellishments are from Lily Bee Designs
We were asked to create a layout using Navy blue, green, light blue, pink and gold.  Here is what I came up with:

Always Layout

And the second layout that I created was for Challenge #8 digital/diecut challenge by Paige Taylor Evans. Papers and embellishments from Studio Calico Printshop collection from Shanna Noel.  I kept it simple on this one.

This is Real Life Layout
I enlarged this cut file and decided to put some playful pictures of my son behind it.  I thought it would be fun to add pops of color so I backed the word "Real" with yellow star paper and placed an angled strip of bright pink behind my title.

I love the look of the large die cut with the photos behind it.  That's it for today.  I'll be back later this week with some new layouts for The Paper Bakery.

I thought that the soft colors in the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party collection would work perfectly for this challenge.  I added some fun Studio Calico wood pieces and sequins to the mix.
