Neat & Tangled and The Cut Shoppe Inspiration Week

Hi everyone,
This week The Cut Shoppe and Neat & Tangled have teamed up for a fun inspiration week.  I'm up on The Cut Shoppe's blog today sharing a layout that I created using the Happy Circles cut file and Scrap Circles Stamp set.

Friends

I wanted to use one of the cut files, as a stitching template.  I chose the Happy Circles cut file, which is one of the free Cut files, that go out in the weekly Newsletter.  Once I finished stitching the design, I added some circles punched from patterned paper, to go along with the stamped phrases from the Scrap Circles stamp set in the Neat & Tangled shop.

Supplies: The Cut Shoppe: Happy Circles cut file; Neat & Tangled: 4x6 Scrap Circles Stamp; Crafts: patterned paper, stickers, die cuts, thicker word, paper clip, precision pen, date stamp; Mister Huey's: Inky Black Spray Mist; Ink: StazOn, Hero Arts Shadow Ink; Other: embroidery thread

The Cut Shoppe is giving away a $25 credit to the Neat & Tangled Shop! All you need to do, is comment on each post this on the blog this week. Stop by!!

Inspired by....

Hi friends,
I have a layout that was on the American Crafts Blog this past week that I would love to share with you.
Pinterest is my go to source for inspiration.  Using stamps and watercolors I recreated a fun background I found on Pinterest.

how to:
Splatter white spray ink onto Ash cardstock.  Set aside to dry.  Stamp XO stamp onto white cardstock (13 times) using black dye ink, and fussy cut around the edges.  Use watercolors to color the inside of the stamped image.  Adhere 4x6 photo to bottom right hand side of layout.  Stamp chevron stamp onto left and right side of photo (make sure it overlaps onto Ash Cardstock) using white dye ink.  Use Knockouts star punch to punch a star on the top right hand side of page.  Adhere negative (from punched star) and adhere it just below.  Trim strips from Shimelle die cuts and adhere to top right hand side of page (just underneath star punch).  Use a sewing machine to stitch strips down with black thread.  Use watercolor paints to paint DIY thickers with yellow and white paint.  Adhere to page just above photo spelling out the words 'run' and 'run'.  Use small black stickers to spell out the word 'dog' in the title.  Use sewing machine to stitch black journaling lines on bottom left hand side of page.  Use a white pen to add journaling.  Stamp date stamp onto bottom left hand side of page (just under journaling).  Finish by adhering enamel dots and chevron multi chip thickers.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll be back later this week with more fun projects!

American Crafts February Gallery layout / Matt Man

***If you are looking for the American Crafts blog hop go here ***

Hi everyone,
I have another fun layout to share today for the American Crafts February Gallery.  Once again, I used the super fun papers and embellishments from the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection.   I recently bought these fun hand drawn stars from Two Peas and after cutting a few, was totally inspired to create a background out of them.

Matt Man layout

I love the plain chipboard thickers in this collection.  They look great by themselves or you can spruce them up.

I added some stamping with Plus One stamps and Hero Arts white shadow ink (my favorite).  This layout came together quickly after adding a few sequins and wood embellishments.  So fun!
supplies: American Crafts: (Plus One Collection) Accompany Large clear acrylic stamps, Mixtape, matte puffy accent stickers, Bits, flair adhesive badges, natural chipboard thickers, peer paper, match paper, doubles paper, counterpart paper; Studio Calico: wood veneer stars (Printshop)

Thanks for stopping by today!

The Good Life

Hi everyone,

I finally had some time this weekend to sit down and play with Studio Calico's Printshop collection.  I know, I am way behind the times because this came out awhile ago, but some of the pieces I was waiting for were backordered.

Can, I just say I love this collection so much!  I am totally hooked on the colors and patterns.  I threw in some super awesome die cuts from The Paper Bakery Love Potion #9 Scrapbook kit and some flair and cork paper from American Crafts DIY Shop collection that just debuted at CHA.

I added in some stamping from Amy Tangerine's  Cut and Paste collection, and some messy stitching.
The messy stitching was an accident my sewing machine for some reason is going hay wire. lol

Sometimes I scrap more clean lined and sometimes I scrap more messily (if that makes sense).  I find that I can get more creative when it is more messy and add in more things like stamps and things that I otherwise forget about.  Do you always stick to a theme?  Or do you sometimes mix it up?  Do you find one way to be more freeing and more creative than the other?

Thanks for stopping by!  I will be back later this week with some more project reveals!

Playoffs, cheerleading and trains...

Hi everyone,

I hope that you are enjoying your day. Things have been busy around here. Both my sons' football team and my daughters' football team that she cheers for made the playoffs, so we will be spending our next few weekends at playoff games. They are super excited about it, and I am really proud of them.

My daughters' cheer team had a competition this past weekend at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
So proud of my girls, they took 2nd place out of 6 teams and worked really hard for it.
We are still recovering from a super busy weekend, so I thought that I would just share with you today a recent layout that I made just for fun using my Silhouette and lots of stamping.

I made this layout with Studio Calico's Central High kit:

Enjoy this moment & remember

Hiya friends,

Happy Wednesday. Hope that your week is treating you well. I got the kids off to school and now I am enjoying a nice cup of coffee. I have a layout that I would like to share today using the new Heyday collection from Studio Calico and some SC stamps. I love how it came out!

Enjoy this moment & remember layout:

I really wanted to purchase the sunburst and plano circle as a mask but they were sold out at SC, so I purchased them both as stamps. I sprayed them with Mister Huey's spray mist and then stamped them on my layout. I especially love the look stamped on canvas. So cool!

supplies:
pattern papers: Studio Calico - Hey day collection
die cuts: Studio Calico - Hey day collection
stamps: starburst background stamp, plano stamp (Studio calico)
mask: ampersand (Studio Calico)
spray mists: Mister Huey's (Studio Calico)
tools: Silhouette Cameo
cutting file: enjoy this moment (KI memories)
sewing machine: brother
thread: Guterman
pen: Zig

a little stamping project...

Hi friends,
I hope that your first week of April is off to a great start. My daughter is on spring break this week but my son is in school. So annoying I wish all of the schools in our district were on the same schedule. Anyways we are pulling my son out of school tomorrow to spend the day at Six Flags. Should be a fun trip!
I wanted to share with you a little stamping project that I created this past weekend using stamps and embossing powders from WOW embossing powders.

I decided to try a new trick and stamp and emboss on cork paper.
I used the mini brocade background stamp and metalline green embossing powder.

I was so thrilled with the outcome!
Here is the full project:
Friends layout:

Did you know that you can emboss on many different materials besides paper. Chipboard, fabric, wood and metal all work great as surfaces for embossing.
Thanks for letting me share, what will you be inspired to emboss?
