sharing some recent pubs...

Good Morning,

I realized this morning that I am really behind on sharing some of my recent publications. So here we go...

In November, I shared this post on the WOW embossing powder blog. It was a team post, and the very last project on that post was a layout that I had published titled "Friends". That layout was published in September 2012 edition of Create: Stamping

I also had 3 other projects in that mag I created for WOW, that I haven't shared yet.

I used a Studio Calico kit for this first one...

Child's play
This layout was showcased in their Vintage section. I die cut the title letters and then heat embossed them with WOW! black glitter embossing powder.

This card was a lot of fun, I heat embossed on canvas.
A Tight Squeeze from Me to You

and for the last one, I heat embossed on fabric. I stamped my damask stamp in watermark ink and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. The result was a very light design.
Puppy Love

That's it for today. I'm off to the gym. Be back with more projects tomorrow :)

Merry and Bright

Hi everyone,

Happy New Years Eve! Can you believe that it is December 31st already? Where did the year go? This year marks the first ever US design team for WOW! embossing powders and our WOW! girls did a wonderful job representing our products. Stop by the WOW embossing powders blog to see some of the amazing creations our girls have made this year.

When I think of New Years I think of glitter - so I have a fun glittery layout to share with you today.

Title: Merry and Bright

I first started my layout by cutting out this 12x12 star background with my Silhouette.
Then I used my Versamark ink pad to ink the whole background in portions. I covered my background with Angel Wings embossing glitter and then heat embossed it. Because it was such a large area, I had to do a couple of layers. The result is so glittery and fun.

Next, I stamped my title Merry & bright on a shipping tag using the Merry and Bright Christmas stamp set and embossed my title and a few cut out stars using Sierra Sunrise.

WOW supplies:
Angel wings embossing glitter
Sierra Sunrise Embossing Glitter
Merry And Bright Christmas stamp set
other supplies:
vintage ephemera pieces, stick pins: My Minds eye
ink: Versamark
cutting tool: Silhouette Cameo
cutting file: mesh star lace (Jamie Koay)

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! Be safe!

I used WOW! embossing powders' brand new Deck the Halls stamp set on my layout paired with opaque bright white embossing powder. This is one of my favorite WOW! colors.
I just love how crisp and clear it comes out.
I used a Versamark ink pad to stamp my title and Christmas trees onto pattern paper and tags and then adhered to my layout.

WOW! embossing powder: Deck the Halls stamp set,
Opaque bright white embossing powder
Versamark: Watermark inkpad

WOW blog hop

Thanks for joining us for the WOW embossing powders Powder Puff girls blog hop.
I have a fun project to share with you today using Ebony regular and my Silhouette Cameo.
I recently received the Silhouette Cameo for my Birthday last week, I am still learning about how to use it and starting a fun collection of files. One of the first files I purchased was this Dear Lizzy doily by American Crafts:

I thought this doily would look great embossed, so I enlarged it to 11x11 and cut it with my silhouette. My next step was to completely cover it in Versamark ink and WOW ebony embossing powder. I had to go over it a few times to get complete coverage but I was really happy with the overall effect. The ebony powder gives it a glossy finish and really makes it stand out.

Cuteness X2 layout:

a little stamping project...

Hi friends,
I hope that your first week of April is off to a great start. My daughter is on spring break this week but my son is in school. So annoying I wish all of the schools in our district were on the same schedule. Anyways we are pulling my son out of school tomorrow to spend the day at Six Flags. Should be a fun trip!
I wanted to share with you a little stamping project that I created this past weekend using stamps and embossing powders from WOW embossing powders.

I decided to try a new trick and stamp and emboss on cork paper.
I used the mini brocade background stamp and metalline green embossing powder.

I was so thrilled with the outcome!
Here is the full project:
Friends layout:

Did you know that you can emboss on many different materials besides paper. Chipboard, fabric, wood and metal all work great as surfaces for embossing.
Thanks for letting me share, what will you be inspired to emboss?

Laugh so much

Hi friends,
I would like to share a couple of layouts that I created this weekend while the fabulous Suzy West was visiting me. Every time that we get together the creativity gets flowing and we have so much fun together. I also noticed that I emboss a lot more on my pages when she is with me (hmmn, maybe it is because she is the US Marketing coordinator of an amazing company called WOW embossing powders?) Or maybe it is because she threatens to cut me if she doesn't like my work? Totally kidding. See my post yesterday, we like to joke that Suzy created my injury last weekend, but really, it was just a silly blonde moment where I picked up my rotary trimmer the wrong way. Ouch!

Here are a couple of layouts that I had fun embossing kind of sporadically on.

My quirks:
This page is appropriately titled my quirks because I have a lot of them, including being clumsy. I embossed on this page using a template from Crafter's Workshop and WOW blueberry powder.

I got to use some new Hambly special edition paper on this (love)and Dear Lizzy thickers (so fun)

Future Photographers:

a fun layout that I did about my daughter and her cousins learning how to use SLR cameras and wanting to become photographers.

I embossed on this page using WOW Opaque bright white (title), and WOW Opaque primary Azure regular (love this color). The glitter paint is Tattered Angels and the papers are from Echo Park (This & That boys collection) and new special edition Hambly (chevron)

and one more layout that I would like to share with you. This is for my friend Ashley N. Newell who went with us to Green Tangerines last Saturday. Ashley is a cardmaker, and whenever we are together we are always trying to get her to make a layout. So, we took a photo (together at the store)and challenged her to use it on a layout.
Here is what I made using our photo:
Laugh so much layout:

I embossed on this page using WOW Opaque bright white and a template from Pink Paislee.
I stitched an overlay on top (Hambly), I just love how it came out.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my work with you today. Ashley and Suzy, I am still waiting to see your pages that you made for the challenge girls, and I am going to hold you to it! lol.
Take care everyone.

back from a fun 3 day weekend with friends

and I have a scrappy injury to show for it. This past weekend my Good friend Suzy West came out to stay with me and we took a girls trip on Saturday up to Green Tangerines in Rocklin for a get together with friends.

with friends Suzy West and Ashley N. Newell

with Deirdre, Suzy and Ashley.
While we were in Rocklin we got cupcakes to celebrate Suzy and Deirdre's birthday.

I don't remember the name of the cupcake shop but if I am ever in that area again, I have to stop by because these were delicious.

We had a fun time creating together and I got a lot of layouts done. 8 total for the weekend. That was huge for me. We came back to my house and Suzy and I continued working on projects throughout the weekend. Then my big clumsy fingers got into a fight with my rotary trimmer and I wound up at the ER really late on Sunday night.

yep, it wasn't pretty under the bandage, I got stitches and a tetnaus shot and a pretty good lesson on being more careful when picking up my trimmer.

It is not to bad though, Suzy and I got a good laugh out of it and I am getting out of chores for a few days. The kids are taking turns washing the dishes, etc.
I have a few projects that I created this past weekend that I would like to share with you.

Check this out:

close up:

I love the bright vivid colors on this. I used new Hambly special edition papers (honeycomb), and Authentique (genuine collection). I embossed the edges with some WOW powder (blueberry) and added some machine stitching and Epiphany.

Another fun layout that I created this weekend using brand new Hambly:

and some fun sequins and wood embellishments:

well that's it for now. I am going to give my big bandaged finger a break from typing. I will be back tomorrow to show you the rest of my new projects :)
