Elle's Studio | Pocket Scrapbooking April kit

Hi everyone, I'm sharing a new pocket scrapbooking page today using the Elle's Studio exclusive April kit + extras.

My daughter’s 17th birthday was just a few weeks ago, and we decided to travel with several members of our youth group to LA to visit an outreach event.

I used two different pocket pages to create my spread.  The page on the left is a 10×12 spread and the page on the right is a 12×12 spread.  I like to change things up sometimes depending on the size of my photos.  I added lots of items from the the Little Moments collection and the Elle’s Studio April 2016 Exclusive kit and extras.

During our trip we visited the Santa Monica beach boardwalk and the event at the Los Angeles Coliseum. I took lots of pictures during our vacation and couldn’t wait to share them in my album.  I added some simple journaling on the right hand side of my spread using the “notes from the weekend” card.  This card really came in handy to help document our trip.

Thanks for stopping by today – I would love to see how you are using ES products on your projects! Make sure you share your projects with us in the ES Member Gallery or on Instagram with the hashtag #ellesstudio!

Elle's Studio | Cut File Highlight

Hi everyone, I would like to share with you a cut file highlight that I created for Elle's Studio this month using their exclusive February cut files paired with the Thankful collection and their February kit.

I really loved the heart in this month's cut file set. I ungrouped it from the set and placed it into a new document in my Silhouette Studio software.  I repeated the pattern several times, by using the copy + paste option.  I started by using the heart cut file at the original size and then increased it, each time I duplicated a new line on my page.

I loaded white cardstock into my machine and cut all of my heart pieces.

Next, I backed heart cut file pieces with different pattterned papers from the Joyful and Thankful collections. I arranged cut file hearts with patterned papers across a white cardstock page.  Then I used a mini stapler to staple many of the embellishments down. Next, I added bits and pieces from the February kit + extras across my page.  Next, I splashed white paint and black ink across the page.  I then printed a small wallet sized black and white photo and adhered it to the page.

I finished off my design  by using a sewing machine and white thread to sew down several of the embellishments throughout the page.

The Cut Shoppe | Bon Apetit!

Hi Everyone,

I have a layout to share with you today using the Get To The Point 12x12 cut file from The Cut Shoppe!

To create my layout, I cut the background out of white cardstock paper.  I then placed the yellow patterned paper behind it.  I printed a small instagram photo and layered it on top of tabs and tags.  I splattered black ink across the page and then embellished with lots of bits and pieces.

Supplies: Elle's Studio: Let's Eat Collection: Patterned paper, bits and pieces, cutouts, tags, wood veneers; American Crafts: White cardstock; Studio Calico: Mister Huey's Inky Black; The Cut Shoppe: Get To The Point 12x12 cut file

The Cut Shoppe | Hello Summer Love

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://americancrafts.typepad.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi everyone!   I have a new layout to share with you today for The Cut Shoppe using the free Newsletter (Summer Love) cut file and the Bitty Borders cut file

Here's my layout:

I'm in love with that Summer Love cut file.  I knew right away when I saw it, that I just had to use it right away.  To create my layout, I actually cut the Summer Summer Summer Love title twice.  The first cut was the full title and then I trimmed off the bottom (love) piece.  The second cut I only cut the word "Love" from white cardstock paper.  I then placed the "Summer Summer Summer" title right above the love cut piece.  I placed my photo behind the love word.   To add color to my page I added watercolors on two of the Summer words and behind the title, before adhering down.

The small circular hearts are from the Bitty Borders cut file, I simply ungrouped them and then cut them out individually and added watercolors to them.  To finish off my layout I added black spray mist, wood veneer pieces and machine stitching.

Summer Love

I hope this post has inspired you to try watercolors on a layout. It really adds a lot of color and interest!  Have a great day!

Scrapbook Circle | You're So Pretty

Hi there,
I'm sharing my very last layout for the month made with Scrapbook Circle's April Let's Do This kit.

Big letters are a hot trend in scrapbooking right now.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut my title from Crate paper and then adhered it to my layout.   For texture, I added drops of white paint across my page and then added a photo of my sweet niece Olivia.  To finish off my page I added bits and pieces from the This way add-on and Love It add-on.  For texture, I added drops of white paint across my page and then added a photo of my sweet niece Olivia.

Stop by the Scrapbook Circle shop to pick up this kit and to see the reveal of May's kit!

Scrapbook Circle | Holiday Quilt

Hi everyone!  I have another layout on the Scrapbook Circle blog today to share with you, that I  made this month using the December 'We are Made of Stories' Kit.  I was inspired by the papers in the December kit, to create my background.  I absolutely love the Elle's Studio Holiday quilt paper!  I knew right away when I saw it, that I wanted to use it to create my background.

To create my background,  I simply cut around four small diamond shapes to create a larger diamond shape.  I then, cut other papers from the kit the same size to match and then laid them down on white cardstock to create my background.  I love that the large diamond shapes grouped together looks like a holiday quilt.  I had a fun photo of my daughter with her friends ice-skating on a recent trip to Tahoe.  I trimmed my photo the same size as the other diamond shapes to help blend in to the background.

Next, I used a sewing machine to stitch a few of the pieces and embellishments in place.  I used embellishments from the kit and added a few embellishments from the December Favorite Elf Add-on.

I hope you enjoyed my layout today!

Scrapbook Circle | Captured

Hi everyone!  I have a layout on the Scrapbook Circle blog today to share with you, that I made using the December 'We are Made of Stories' Kit.  When I first saw the papers & embellishments included in the December kit, I was so excited.  I absolutely loved the patterned papers included in the kit.  Which brings me to my design team choice: pattern piecing.

To create my layout I first started by using a punch to punch out triangles from pattern paper.  Then I lined them up on my page, with a ruler to create the fun background design.

Next, I used a sewing machine to stitch the pieces in place.  I used embellishments from the kit and the December Favorite Elf Add-on to embellish my page.

I hope you are inspired by my layout today!

Scrapbook Circle | Designer's Choice

Hi there everyone!  I have a recent layout to share today that I created for Scrapbook Circle using their October On This Day kit and Digital cuts.  When I first opened up my kit I noticed all the bright colors and patterns and wanted to create a layout that was equally as fun.  I had a vision in my mind to create a background out of lots of colorful circles going in a diagonal direction.  So I turned on my Silhouette and picked out this happy cut file (this is actually an older cut file from the shop).  I used the digital file repeatedly by cutting some papers from my main kit.  I also brought in some papers from the October Good Times & Right Now Add On's.

To continue the circle theme I chose two photos of my dogs and trimmed them down to the same size as my other circles.  I used a ruler to line them all up in a diagonal fashion before adhering them down.  Next I used my sewing machine to stitch over them and added a few drops of spray mist.  Then for the fun part!  I added lots of little embellishments to liven up my page.  I love the way the Pinkfresh Studio wood drop stickers and Chickaniddy Crafts enamel stars accent my page.

I also used the Scrapbook Exclusive stamp set from the main kit to stamp this "oh yeah" phrase on my page.

Scrapbook Circle | Pumpkin Patch Fun

Hi Everyone!  I have a fun layout to share today for Scrapbook Circle.  This layout is one of my favorite pages that I created with the  October On This Day kit.  Recently, I saw this fun triangle background in the Silhouette store and I couldn't wait to use it on my page.  It is one large triangle made out of 9 smaller triangles. To create this background I cut each piece one at a time, using different pieces of pattern paper from the main kit.  A few of the papers are from the two add on kits this month Right Now and Good Times.

Once, my triangles were adhered down I used my sewing machine to stitch several of them in place.  Then added my photo and embellishments.   I fell in love with the Elle's Studio Sycamore Happy paper as soon as I saw it.  I love all the scattered confetti pieces throughout.  I played off of the "scattered confetti" idea and placed numbers (from the Chickaniddy die cut pack, included in the Good Times add on) sporadically across my page. Those numbers are the cutest and I really love the effect!

The Pinkfresh Wood Drop Stickers and Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane Cork Set (included in the main kit) added texture and visual interest to my page.

The colors and papers in this kit were perfect for helping me document a trip to the pumpkin patch with my family.  If you haven't already picked up an October kit, hurry and get them while supplies last.  Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  Have a great day!
