Got candy?

Hi everyone, Happy Halloween! I am up on the Bella BLVD blog today sharing a fun Halloween layout.

Got Candy? layout:
I wanted to create a 'Halloween themed' layout but didn't have Halloween products on hand. So, I decided
to pull papers from different collections that fit a Halloween color theme - purple, orange, and green.
The orange chevron, and green grid patterns that I pulled from the Birthday Boy collection complimented
the purple plum paper that I pulled from the Sprinkles & Lace collection.
To add a playful feel to the layout, I cut out circles with my Silhouette Cameo,
then added some punched stars, Ciao Chip embellishments, buttons and designer tape.
I finished off my layout by adding some doodling, stitching, journaling and a flag from the Thankful Flags 2 collection.

supplies:
Birthday Boy collection: Eat cake paper, About A Boy paper, Alpha +Bits stickers: photo corner
Sophisticates: Sprinkles & lace: plum paper, petite pieces paper
Ciao Chip: chipboard alphas: Sienna Pony, Everyday Elements: stars & hearts
Cardstock stickers: High Five alphabets: Yellow High Fives
Flags: Thankful Flags 2
Button market: stars button, orange stars button, outdoors button
Designer tape: orange stripe tape, jail bird tape

scrapbooking those with special needs...

Hi everyone, Happy Thursday! We are getting closer to the weekend, YEAH!

The new November/December issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine is out

Have you seen it? It is packed full of inspiration.

I have a two page layout in this issue.

Here is a small peek of my layout titled "One Brave Soldier" which can be found on page 46 of the mag.
This layout is very special to me. The call was for scrapbooking your loved ones with special needs. I wrote about my husbands struggle with combat PTSD from fighting in Afghanistan, his exceptional service (receiving a Bronze star medal) and getting through as a family day by day. I am incredibly lucky to have him as my husband and to have him here with me. It took me a long time to be able to get to the point of talking about our struggles and to be able to get them down on paper, so creating this layout was very therapeutic and beneficial to me. And a good reminder of what I have to be thankful for.

Thanks for letting me share!

Have a wonderful day friends

October memories

Hi everyone,
Happy Wednesday. I just got the kids off to school and I am headed to the gym. Going to take a gentle yoga class today. But first, I am up on the Bella BLVD blog today and want to share my project with you :)

October memories layout:

I just adore the colors and patterns in the Thankful collection. They are perfect for documenting Fall days and trips to the pumpkin
patch. I started my layout by tracing a wave pattern on cardstock then I used it as a template to cut out my pattern papers and
piece together my background. I used my sewing machine to stitch each section down. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the tree
and stitched it with embroidery floss.

I added in chipboard icons from the Ciao Chip Thankful collection and hand cut the leaves and pumpkin from the cute cuts paper.
To add dimension, I folded some of the leaves in half and added some embroidery stitching before gluing them down.
I finished off my layout by adding a blessings flag from the Thankful flags 2 collection and some High five alphas.
supplies:
Thankful collection: Our Spot paper, Turkey Tracks paper, Burlap paper, Perfect Day paper,
Cute cuts paper, Alpha +Bits stickers: scallop border sticker, Just Write Journaling stickers: October Memories,
Ciao Chip: chipboard icons: Thankful
Cardstock stickers: High Five alphabets: Green High Fives
Flags: Thankful Flags 2
Button market: outdoors button, fruit punch button

Playoffs, cheerleading and trains...

Hi everyone,

I hope that you are enjoying your day. Things have been busy around here. Both my sons' football team and my daughters' football team that she cheers for made the playoffs, so we will be spending our next few weekends at playoff games. They are super excited about it, and I am really proud of them.

My daughters' cheer team had a competition this past weekend at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
So proud of my girls, they took 2nd place out of 6 teams and worked really hard for it.
We are still recovering from a super busy weekend, so I thought that I would just share with you today a recent layout that I made just for fun using my Silhouette and lots of stamping.

I made this layout with Studio Calico's Central High kit:

At the train station:
I had this photo that I took of my daughter last year modeling in front of a train,
and loved the colors in it. I added some stamping with Studio Calico's plano stamp and small small stamps from their stamping kit class.

supplies:
Studio Calico kit: Central High
cardstock: Bazzill (white)
pattern paper: American Crafts (plaid)
overlay: Hambly (cameras)
embellishments: American Crafts Dear lizzy collection (brad, chipboard cloud)
rub on: Hambly (photographs)
journaling spot: K&co. (Smash)
letter stickers: American Crafts (thickers), Cosmo Cricker (tiny type)
tools: American Crafts (knockouts border punch) Tim Holtz (tiny attacher)
ink: Donna Salazar (Smooch Spritz)

Crisp days of Fall

Hi everyone,

Are you enjoying the Crisp Autumn weather yet?

We had a bit of a cool down last week, but too many days that were in the high 80's and low 90's this week in Northern California. I am really longing for some Crisp Autumn days. Fall is my favorite season, and it has inspired me to make this layout using the new Fusion collection from Ruby Rock-it designs.

Crisp days of Fall layout:

I paired fusion papers with some fundamental kraft pieces and some fun burlap paper from the new Cook collection.

closeup:

I just love how all these elements tie together nicely, I even added some paper from the Arcadia collection. And I added a bit of canvas paper, that I got from my local craft supply store to add some texture to the layout.

supplies: Bella! fusion sandalwood paper, leaf paper
Fundamentals: gold accents, kraft alphas
Arcadia collection: Tranquil paper
Bella! fundamentals: chipboard icons and letters
cook collection: burlap paper

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

sharing my first CK pub!

Happy Friday Friends,

Hope that your weekend is starting off well. It is a little chilly out this morning, so I am wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee catching up on blogging and hoping to get some play time in today. It's a perfect day to stay in and scrap!

I realized this morning that I have a recent publication that I haven't shared with you yet. So here we go...

This one, I am super excited about..

This was my first ever pub in Creating Keepsakes Magazine!

Dream Layout:

I was super excited to have this layout picked up. This was for a teen inspiration column in the July/August 2012 issue. The layout was about my daughter's dream of having a career in the fashion industry as a fashion designer. To highlight on the fashion trend I added bits of lace, sequins and fabric yoyo's to my layout.
Not only did they pick up my layout, but they also requested a photo of something in my daughter's room that inspires her. Since she has a setup in her room with a drawing desk and dress forms this photo was perfect to compliment the article.
Here is a peek of my layout in print:

If you would like to purchase this issue it is available here

Have a great weekend!
