CHA card

Hi Everyone, hope that you are having a great weekend. Mine has been mellow, so far (just the way I like it). I went out to lunch with my friend and neighbor Ashley today, then we stopped by a local scrapbook store to stock up on some supplies. We will be getting together soon to craft. I plan on spending the rest of the night with the family. We are going to go to a free summer movie event with friends tonight. We are going to bring pillows, and blankets and of course popcorn!

I wanted to share with you a recent card that I made for CHA Summer. I made this card for Epiphany Crafts and I am proud to say they displayed it in their booth. Did you go to CHA summer? If so, did you stop by their booth? Their booth is always so creative and cute!

I made this card using Epiphany Craft's heart shaped button studio tool, and 7 of their heart shaped acrylic buttons. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and the papers are from a recent Scarlet Lime kit that I received.

Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

She is lovely

Hello ladies! Today I would like to share with you a simple layout that I created using papers from Donna's
Spring in bloom collection and Antiquities line.
I often get my inspiration for a layout by finding a good color combo, and then choosing papers and embellishments
that match.
This month I chose these colors to work with:

I thought they were so pretty and those shades of blue and gray were just speaking to me.

and here is my layout that I created using that combo:

The background and butterfly are light blue. The title, small butterfly and gem are pink.
I used the grays along the left side and under the photo. Did you notice the texture that
I added to the left border? To add interest I simply cut pieces of felt with my Spellbinders
dies. Then misted them with chalkboard mist (Tattered Angels) and adhered them to the
layout. Mixing felt with your paper is a great way to add texture to your layout.

Life's a beach

Hi all,
I hope your summer is off to a great sunny start. The temperature has been hot where we live, and fortunately
we live close enough to jump in the car and head to the beach on those days when we just want to cool off.
I am here today to share a book that I made using 4 lines from GCD Studios: The Great Outdoors, Soul Food, Homespun Chic and Funhouse.

front cover Beach cork book

pages 2-3

pages 4-5

another shot of the book from a different angle

Did you notice the spine of the book? I used the wooden spool from the Funhouse collection, and wrapped it with
strips of GCD Studios paper. To bind the book together I simply punched holes in each page with my Crop-a-dile
(WeRmemory Keepers), then I pulled twine through each of the holes wrapping it around the spool each time. After
I wrapped all the pages, I simply tied off the ends. I love the look of it, and it was so much fun to make.

Here are some more detailed shots and instructions for how I did each page:

a little bit of Fun House...

Hi all,
I hope that your fourth of July is off to a great start! Our holiday is going to be low key today. We decided to stay close to home, so that we don't have to worry about being out on the roads. We are going to a BBQ at a friends house that lives in our neighborhood. And we are setting off a huge pack of fireworks that we got to keep the kids happy.

I had some time this weekend to play with the Fun House collection by GCD studios. I wanted to share with you two cards that I made:

Amazing card

supplies:
cardstock: kraft paper (Bazzill)
specialty paper: overlay (Hambly Studios)
pattern paper: trick pony paper, the world's greatest paper - funhouse collection by Tina Higgins (GCD Studios)
embellishments: chipboard shape, mini flag, journal tag - funhouse collection by Tina Higgins (GCD Studios)
fibers: red twine funhouse collection by Tina Higgins (GCD Studios)
other: pocket folder: Jenni Bowlin
(I really love the mini flags in this collection)

Celebrate card

supplies:
pattern paper: candy apple paper, test your luck paper funhouse collection by Tina Higgins (GCD Studios)
embellishments: award ribbon, resin frame, border - funhouse collection by Tina Higgins (GCD Studios)
stamp: celebrate simply sentiments (Paper Smooches)

That award banner was so much fun to play with. I really like the bold playful colors on this card.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that everyone enjoys their day and has a fun and safe Holiday.

new cards and a giveaway

Hi, everyone! I hope that you are having a great start to your 4th of July weekend. I have been super swamped with projects that I have been doing for CHA. Unfortunately, I can't share those until after the show.
So, I thought that I would share with you some recent cards that I created using the Homespun Chic line from GCD Studios

Beautiful Brave girl card

This is a card that I made for Breast Cancer awareness month. Did you notice the cute felt flowers and epoxy they are
from Epiphany Crafts. To make the epoxy I simply downloaded a pink ribbon from a Breast cancer awareness site, then used my custom shape studio tool.

Breathe in...

this one I made for my friends that are affected by Fibromyalgia (I am one of them). Some days are harder then others, so it is nice to have encouragement.

What a woman...

this is a just because card, but it could be used for encouragement too. I love the message.

and now for the giveaway....
GCD Studios is giving away a free kit of the month. This kit is jammed pack with goodies from The Great Outdoors and Fun House collections

make sure that you visit their blog for a chance to win.
