Soft Fall layout

In the month of November I love to take photos of the kids outside with fall leaves. I had photos of my kids that I took at a local park and I thought that these colors would be perfect for a soft fall layout:

I loved the creamy soft colors mixed with black. I also took inspiration from the angled ceiling, so I brought that into my layout by handcutting several angles, and adding a fun handstitched print to one of them.

Here is my layout that I created for GCD studios:

and an up close photo of the tree that I created using my Slice:

I added texture to the leaves with my Sizzix and added buttons from the Sweet Surrender collection, and candy dots from the Fun House collection. For a fun playful look.

I used papers and buttons from GCD studios Sweet Surrender collection

and papers from GCD StudiosAnimal Crackers for boys collection

and elements from the Fun House collection

fun with fun house...

Hi everyone,
Hope that you have been enjoying a wonderful crafty week. My week has been busy dealing with lots of legal issues resulting from the renter that destroyed our rental property. It hasn't been fun, and at times I have felt like crying and giving up but I am determined to keep my head up and pray for a good outcome. With that being said, I haven't had much time to craft this week, so I thought I would post some recent projects that I have finished using the fun house line from GCD Studios.

Doggie Mama:

The chevron print is so in right now, and I just adore this paper!

Fashionista:

When I saw these photo of my niece Sophia, I just knew that that it would work perfectly with this line.

I love the fun embellishments in the Fun House line - esp. this cute banner! You can pick up the whole Fun House collection here.

That's all for today, thanks for stopping by!

Mad about hats

In the month of October there are many photo opportunities to take pictures of the kids in Halloween costumes, pumpkins and fall decor.

I decided to draw my inspiration from this photo this month:

These colors are so vibrant and fun. Once I saw these colors, I knew that I had the perfect photos to go with them.

I had these photos of my daughter in her "Mad Hatter" Halloween costume last year. Her costume was so bright and cheery that I wanted to use bright colors to accentuate the photos instead of traditional Halloween colors. The papers from the Fun house and Youthful Eggsubarance collections matched pefectly.

Mad Hatter layout:

Here is a detail shot:

I handcut the target symbol then used a star punch to dress it up. I added chipboard flags and twine from the fun house collection. I decided to do a fun journaling spot clustered with tickets to carry the "fun house theme"

To complete this project I used papers and embellishments from the Funhouse collection, and the youthful eggsubarance collection.

I hope this layout inspires you to scrap those Halloween photos using non- traditional colors.

Splash

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying the warm summer days. For my project this month I decided to use bright, vivid colors.
When I think of August, I think of sunny colors - lots of bright blues, bright orange, and lots of time spent in the water with family and friends. Today is my son Matthew's birthday. He is a summer baby and he practically lives in the pool, so I knew that I wanted to do a layout about swimming for him.

Here is the color combo that I got my inspiration from:

I really loved the circle pattern on the quilt, so I decided to use the chipboard wheels from the Fun House collection to replicate the shape.

Here is a sneak peek

and the finished layout

I loved the colors and the patterns in my inspiration pic so much that I decided to use a bold Chevron print from the Fun House collection. I really love how it stands out against the dark blue, and shades of orange.

Here is a list of the Fun House supplies that I used to complete this layout:

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope that you enjoy lots of August summery days with your family!

a little bit of Fun House...

Hi all,
I hope that your fourth of July is off to a great start! Our holiday is going to be low key today. We decided to stay close to home, so that we don't have to worry about being out on the roads. We are going to a BBQ at a friends house that lives in our neighborhood. And we are setting off a huge pack of fireworks that we got to keep the kids happy.

I had some time this weekend to play with the Fun House collection by GCD studios. I wanted to share with you two cards that I made:

new cards and a giveaway

Hi, everyone! I hope that you are having a great start to your 4th of July weekend. I have been super swamped with projects that I have been doing for CHA. Unfortunately, I can't share those until after the show.
So, I thought that I would share with you some recent cards that I created using the Homespun Chic line from GCD Studios

Beautiful Brave girl card

This is a card that I made for Breast Cancer awareness month. Did you notice the cute felt flowers and epoxy they are
from Epiphany Crafts. To make the epoxy I simply downloaded a pink ribbon from a Breast cancer awareness site, then used my custom shape studio tool.

Breathe in...

this one I made for my friends that are affected by Fibromyalgia (I am one of them). Some days are harder then others, so it is nice to have encouragement.

What a woman...

this is a just because card, but it could be used for encouragement too. I love the message.

and now for the giveaway....
GCD Studios is giving away a free kit of the month. This kit is jammed pack with goodies from The Great Outdoors and Fun House collections

make sure that you visit their blog for a chance to win.
