Christmas morn

I always get all giddy on Christmas morning to see the kids reactions when they come downstairs and see the tree all lit up with presents under it. It makes me want to be a kid again! I had this photo that I took of my kids with their cousins on Christmas morning. When I saw this color inspiration on the internet, I just knew that I wanted to use it on my project for GCD studios this month.

I loved the traditional Christmas colors, with a touch of blue and brown.

Since geometrical patterns are such a big trend right now I decided to create a layout using triangle shapes that I cut with my Slice.

Christmas Morn layout:

Here is a photo of the pattern close up

I used a In Stitchz circle template from Bazzill to create the large circle, and I went over a few of the circles with embroidery floss to give the layout texture.

I used the woodgrain chipboard letters from GCD Studios Great Outdoors collection
and pattern papers from their Scandia Jul collection

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to take a photo of the kids in front of the tree this year.

Life's a beach

Hi all,
I hope your summer is off to a great sunny start. The temperature has been hot where we live, and fortunately
we live close enough to jump in the car and head to the beach on those days when we just want to cool off.
I am here today to share a book that I made using 4 lines from GCD Studios: The Great Outdoors, Soul Food, Homespun Chic and Funhouse.

front cover Beach cork book

pages 2-3

pages 4-5

Did you notice the spine of the book? I used the wooden spool from the Funhouse collection, and wrapped it with
strips of GCD Studios paper. To bind the book together I simply punched holes in each page with my Crop-a-dile
(WeRmemory Keepers), then I pulled twine through each of the holes wrapping it around the spool each time. After
I wrapped all the pages, I simply tied off the ends. I love the look of it, and it was so much fun to make.

Here are some more detailed shots and instructions for how I did each page:

new cards and a giveaway

Hi, everyone! I hope that you are having a great start to your 4th of July weekend. I have been super swamped with projects that I have been doing for CHA. Unfortunately, I can't share those until after the show.
So, I thought that I would share with you some recent cards that I created using the Homespun Chic line from GCD Studios

Beautiful Brave girl card

This is a card that I made for Breast Cancer awareness month. Did you notice the cute felt flowers and epoxy they are
from Epiphany Crafts. To make the epoxy I simply downloaded a pink ribbon from a Breast cancer awareness site, then used my custom shape studio tool.

Breathe in...

this one I made for my friends that are affected by Fibromyalgia (I am one of them). Some days are harder then others, so it is nice to have encouragement.

What a woman...

this is a just because card, but it could be used for encouragement too. I love the message.

and now for the giveaway....
GCD Studios is giving away a free kit of the month. This kit is jammed pack with goodies from The Great Outdoors and Fun House collections

make sure that you visit their blog for a chance to win.

campfire card

Hello all, back again to share with you a card that I created for GCD studios.
The Design team had an assignment this month to create a project using several different pieces of pattern paper. This project was also suppose to have a summer theme. I love summer, and to me and my family summer means - camping! We have a tradition every year as soon as the weather gets warm to pack up the kids, the dogs, our camper and go camping. We have been camping with 5 other families for the last 6 years. We have made so many lasting memories this way, that the kids will cherish forever.

So, I thought that it would be fun to create a card with a camping theme.

Here is what I made:

Campfires are hot card

I created this card using the GCD studios Great Outdoors colletion by Heather Tozzi. To create the campfire logs, I took strips of brown paper (I used the backside of S'mores paper) and rolled them. To finish I tied them with twine.

Here is a closeup of the logs:

I hope you get the chance to get out and make lots of memories with your family this summer. If your family likes to go camping (like mine) then The Great Outdoors Collection is the perfect to document it.
