GCD studios contest and some new projects

Happy Friday everyone! I want to make sure that you all know about an awesome contest that is going on over at GCD studios.
Rules:
1) create a project (it can be anything you want), but keep the theme "spring" in mind.
2) You must use the chipart tool on it somehow (if you don't have it, it can be found in many stores)
3) submit your projects to: Chipart_contest@gcdstudios.com

and here is the prize for our Spring Spin off Contest with Fiskars.

Secondly, I wanted to share some recent projects that I made with the Sew easy line from My little Shoebox

First is a project that I created of my niece Sophia using the Punky playground corrugated cardboard from Punky Sprouts and a fun heart button and 1 inch round epoxy from Epiphany Crafts. I also sprayed a doilly with tattered angels spray. So much fun!

Second, I created a fun layout of me with my amazing scrap friends - Tricia Wilson, Sarah de Guzman, and Suzy West.
They really are 'sew cute' and I treasure their friendships immensely.

I used an actual sewing pattern on the layout to make the fun circles, then used foam tape underneath the sewing stickers to make them pop. What do you think?

And the last project that I have to share with you today is a fun layout that I did of myself (gasp). I rarely feature myself in a layout but I thought that the paper was perfect for these fun photos that my dear friend Suzy West took of me when we were playing around one day.

new punky project to share...

So I wanted to share a fun Punky sprouts book that I recently created. I love Punky sprout albums, they come in lots of fun shapes and sizes and are so much fun to alter! My new book is called Remember the moments and I used the spunky sprout album, it can be purchased here

page 1&2: I absolutely adore the acrylic pages in the Punky Sprouts albums.


page 3: Hambly overlay, tim holtz film strip and Glitz letter stickers


page 4: love page. I included a family photo and a fun flower.


page 5: I kept this page simple with Glitz paper, an old pay stub ticket


page 6: I used a light polka dot stamp on the canvas and included photos of my boys


page 7: I had fun decorating these tags with Hambly, jewels and epoxies from Epiphany crafts


page 8: the backside of the tags. I kept it simple here with some Hambly


page 9: I used a large scroll stamp on the canvas. This photo of my sister-in-law who recently got married seemed to fit perfectly here.

back page: I had fun printing index pictures with my Canon Selphy ES40 to go inside the film strip on this page

Finished a new Punky Sprouts book today...

just in time for my Valentine to come home, so that I can share it with him. The book is called 'True Love travels on a gravel road'
and it features new and old photos of us over the years (12 years to be exact). Wow, I can't believe it has been that long. Where does the time go?

I used the Bella Blvd. Lovey Dovey collection by Stephanie Hunt and Punky Sprouts album (rebel sprout). I have long been a punky sprouts fan, but this was my first time ever using this particular album. The book comes with jump rings and gives you the freedom to put it together yourself. It was so cool being able to decide where the pages go! Another feature that was so fun about this book is that I used several shape studio and button studio tools from Epiphany crafts to customize my pages. I had a lot of fun with the front cover. I made the heart out of pink felt.

I got creative on this page by making my own custom epoxies with the new 1 inch shape studio tools. I also had fun painting a circular metal grid that I found in the garage to add flair to my canvas page.

I had fun making a cute little pocket for my picture using Hambly screenprints paper. I topped it off with a flower I made with Tim Holtz paper rosette die and a custom Epiphany epoxy heart.

The corrugated strip at the bottom is a Starbucks coffee sleeve that I recycled and punched with an EK Success border punch. So fun!

I had fun making the banner (on the last page) out of chipboard and Epiphany crafts 1/2 inch epoxies.

I absolutely loved making this album and I am going to enjoy even more, sharing it with my honey tonight as we snuggle up and reminisce about the years past. Happy Valentines Day!

new projects to share

I was orginally going to share this post tomorrow, but I am too excited so I am going to share it now. I created this Punky Sprouts Alfalfa Sprout album using Crate's Restoration line. I absolutely adore this line, the colors, the textures, the embellishments. I also got to use (for the first time) Studio Calico's new Mr.Huey's sprays. I am in love with their sprays. They are so much fun, and they added so much versatility to my pages.










I have to say that I had so much fun creating this album, it is one of my favorite projects


Maya Road Album

Here is a look at a Maya road album that I created recently for Canon. I used coordinating papers from October Afternoon and lots of yummy ribbons, and glimmer mist too. All of the small photos on this project were printed with Canon's portable Selphy printer. So much fun!
