Pink Paislee | Halloween Cards

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hello there!  Happy Halloween week Pink Paislee fans!  I have a couple of fun Halloween cards to share with you to set the mood!
Halloween is my all time favorite holiday!  I love the fall weather, the decorating, the colors, the costumes and of course the candy!!  I would like to share with you today a couple of cards that I made for the occasion!

The first card that I created is a house shaped card, that I cut using my Silhouette cameo.  I used paper from the Bella Rouge collection.  To add detail to my card, I cut a couple of bats out of black cardstock and added them to card.  I then sprinkled white spray mist across the card.  I added a couple of loose threads and some enamel dots from the Crate Paper After Dark collection.  The gold puffy stars are from the Memorandum collection.

I hand painted the letter "H" with white paint and added it to my card, with a bit of black tulle behind it.  I will show you how I did this in the steps below.  I handpicked the letter "H" and the numbers "31" from the Bella Rouge collection. I used a foam paint brush and some white folk art paint to transform them.  I thought the initial colors and design of the letter/numbers would have been perfect for Halloween, but I wanted them to stand out against my chosen striped background papers.

To do this, I first dabbed a little bit of white paint on to my foam brush and then lightly stroked on white paint to my letter H and numbers 31.  I purposely did not cover them completely, because I wanted to give them a little bit of a distressed look.  Set aside your chosen letters/numbers to dry and then adhere to your cards!  This is a great way to customize them and give them a "homemade" look!

Scrapbook Circle | Magic

I have another layout to share with you that I created this month for Scrapbook Circle using their January All You Need Is Love kit.

This was a designer's choice layout this month or a "free for all".  I was so impressed this month by the selection of papers and embellishments in this month's kit.

To create my background, I used a mixed of Amy Tangerine Stitched papers.  I cut out a few wonky circles using my Silhouette Cameo and then splattered white paint across my page.

I added Pink Paislee Bella Rouge Transparent alphas and Scrapbook Circle exclusive acrylic hearts.  I have a tip to share with you about creating titles.  When I was spelling out my title I ran out of the letter "A" so I used a V (turned upside down) and added embroidery floss stitched across to make it an A.

Bella Rouge Altered Frame

Hi everyone,

I have a fun altered project to share today using the Bella Rouge collection from Pink Paislee.  I love how soft, girly and sweet this collection is!  I decided to make an altered frame display using papers and embellishments from this collection.  I just love how it came out!

I had been wanting a clip on display photo frame for awhile but didn't want to pay for one.  I think it is so much fun to do it yourself.  So, I went to the hardware store and picked up some wire,  and nails.  I found the clips at a local office supply store.

I strung four wires across the back of the frame.  I didn't measure, I just eyeballed it (which is usually my technique for everything)!

Next, I added about four metal clips to each hanging wire.

Embellishing it was the fun part!  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out envelopes, tags, bows, and arrows.  I even found a sweet little viewfinder and diamond that I cut out that I thought would go perfectly with the Bella Rouge collection!

I embellished each hanging clip with pieces from the ephemera pack, puffy glitter stickers, and chipboard sticker pack.  I added some ribbons, loose thread and bling to dress them up!

I love the way this project came out.  You can bet that you will see more altered frame projects in the future using this DIY frame!

Scrapbook Circle | Shine Layout

Hi everyone!  It’s Gina here today and I’m excited to share with you a layout that I made this month using the January  All You Need Is Love Kit.  I was inspired by a recent cut file that I downloaded online to create my background.

I chose three photos and cropped them to fit within a couple pieces of the heart shape.  Then I chose papers from my kit and backed a few of the pieces.  I chose to leave the rest of the shape open so that my background paper would show through.

I added Authentique mini diction stickers and Foil Word Stickers from the  Hello Love Add-On and enamel dots from the Shine Bright Add-on.  I added drops of white paint and black ink to finish off my layout.

Tip: to add white paint to my page, I dipped the bottom end of a paint brush into a bottle of paint and flicked it across my page.  I didn't plan it, but I love that the bottom white flickers of paint mimic a heartbeat.

I hope you enjoyed my page today!  As always, we love to see how you use your kits! Please share over on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page so we can see your work.

Scrapbook Circle | Circle Round Up

Hi everyone!!
I had a post up on the Scrapbook Circle blog earlier this week showing how I used their January Circle Round Up to gain inspiration for my page!!

I love the Circle Round Up because it gives you an outline of ideas of what will work well together.  I always start with the largest circle first and then make my way to the smallest circle.  The largest circle used .  I used the Pink Paislee Gorgeous paper included in the All You Need is Love kit for that.

The next circle was the blush circle.  I used washi shapes for that.  I stacked washi tapes along the right side of my layout.

The next circle was the Bling It On circle.  I used the AC Gold heart stickers to add a little of bling to my layout.

The last circle was the Add-on circle .  I used the Authentique mini diction word stickers to add extra text to my layout.  Because I followed the circle round up recipe everything came together pretty well.  I hope that you can gain inspiration this month from the circle round up!
