American Crafts | Love Love Love

Creating a layout without using patterned papers can sound like a big challenge.  But you can still create a great look by letting your other supplies take center stage.  I used cardstock and die-cut pieces to create my background.

Supplies:  Cardstock (AM710-41) - Vanilla, Cardstock (AM710-725) - Shrimp, Cardstock (AM714-17) Glitter Gold, This To That (AM617-13) - Adhesive, Cardstock (AM710-78) - Ash, Cardstock (AM710-566) - Seafoam, Cardstock (AM710-82) - Black, Stitched (368970) - Transparent Stickers Accent & Phrase, Stitched (368978) - Adhesive Back Enamel Dots, Stitched (368980) - Cardstock Die-Cuts Shapes, Stitched (STCHTH-68967) - Thickers Lucky Accent Words/Kraft Chipboard, Knock Outs (KOP63123) - Triangle Banner Dear Lizzy 2"

How To: Use a paint brush to flick white paint across Vanilla cardstock background, set aside to dry.  Use a 2" Triangle banner punch to punch out several pieces from Black, Ash, Seafoam, Shrimp, and Glitter Cardstock.  Print 5 small photos and punch out with triangle banner punch.  Arrange triangle pieces and photos onto Vanilla cardstock background page and adhere down.  Add foam adhesive squares to flowers and "Do" Heart found in the die-cuts shapes pack. Gather pieces of loose thread and add to back of foam adhesive square cardstock pieces.  Finish page by adding enamel dot, and extra die cut pieces.

Epic

I'm popping in today to share a recent layout that I made using Silhouette sketch pens!!

Supplies: Silhouette America: cut files, sketch pens, silhouette cameo machine; American Crafts: papers, stickers, rub ons, date stamp; Studio Calico: wood veneer pieces, Mister Huey's inky black spray mist; Other: watercolors, sewing machine, thread

I used the Silhouette glitter sketch pens to sketch the stars and word circles.  After they dried, I colored in several pieces with watercolors.  I adhered the pieces down to my layout using my sewing machine, and then added drops of spray mist, stickers and embellishments.

I had a lot of fun using the glitter sketch pens to create this Epic layout!

Thanks for looking!

Scrapbook Circle | Shine Layout

Hi everyone!  It’s Gina here today and I’m excited to share with you a layout that I made this month using the January  All You Need Is Love Kit.  I was inspired by a recent cut file that I downloaded online to create my background.

I chose three photos and cropped them to fit within a couple pieces of the heart shape.  Then I chose papers from my kit and backed a few of the pieces.  I chose to leave the rest of the shape open so that my background paper would show through.

I added Authentique mini diction stickers and Foil Word Stickers from the  Hello Love Add-On and enamel dots from the Shine Bright Add-on.  I added drops of white paint and black ink to finish off my layout.

Tip: to add white paint to my page, I dipped the bottom end of a paint brush into a bottle of paint and flicked it across my page.  I didn't plan it, but I love that the bottom white flickers of paint mimic a heartbeat.

I hope you enjoyed my page today!  As always, we love to see how you use your kits! Please share over on the Scrapbook Circle Facebook page so we can see your work.

Make A Wish | The Cut Shoppe

Hi Everyone,

I have a new post up at The Cut Shoppe today, using their brand new Sew Loved cut file.

To create my layout I took the Sew Loved cut file and opened it in my Silhouette Studio software program.  I used a copy + paste option to repeat the pattern several times and then cut the file from patterned paper.  I also used the same method to cut the pattern several times from white cardstock.
I used watercolor paints on several of the hearts, and then grouped them all behind my photo!

Love | The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone,

Gina here, today is my first post for the new design team term at The Cut Shoppe and I am excited to share a new layout with you using the Lucky In Love cut file.

I used the Lucky in Love cut file to create my own background paper.  I placed the 12x12 file on my canvas in Silhouette Cameo and then selected sketch to use a black sketch pen to draw out the words.  Once the background was sketched out I used watercolors to fill in a couple of the words.  I also used my Silhouette to cut the Love word a couple of times from patterned paper and then attached them to the layout.  I added a few embellishments to help accentuate my page.

Page Maps & American Crafts

Hi everyone,

The Design Team from American Crafts teamed up with PageMaps for the month of November!  We were sent some fun Sketches from Becky, and I was really excited to get started.  I paired my Sketch with the new Stitched collection from Amy Tangerine, I just love this collection so much!  Here is what I created with the sketch she sent!

I stayed pretty close to the sketch and added in some machine stitching, wood veneer frame and some spray mist.  I love that this layout came together fairly quickly by using the map.

Make sure that you stop by the PageMaps site, to see the full post from the design team!
