The new Shimelle Starshine collection by American Crafts is not just for boys.  There are many pieces that work well for the everyday as well as for girl projects.  I chose some of the floral pieces in the collection to help pretty up this page about my daughter.

How To: Use a die cutting machine to cut out background from white cardstock paper.  Trim pieces of various patterned papers and place behind cut out background.  Use a paint brush to flick white paint across the page, set aside to dry.  Print a 6x4 black and white photo, adhere to center of page.  Adhere stickers behind and above photo.  Clip an epoxy paper clip onto the right side of photo.  Print out journaling, trim and adhere to page just below photo.  Use a sewing machine to stitch down journaling strips.  Adhere chipboard, acrylic and acetate stars to page.  Use a mini stapler to staple down a couple of the stars.  Place a floral chipboard sticker to left hand side of page just below photo.  Adhere acyrlic "Shine" sticker to bottom right hand side of page.  Place a small tag (from ephemera pack) to top right hand side of page.  Use a sewing machine to stitch down.  Place an acrylic star on top.  Stamp phrase stamp onto page using white dye based ink.  Finish page by using a sewing machine to add random stitching to page in a sporadic pattern.

Pink Paislee | Today Grateful

The crisp change of Fall is in the air, and I am so excited for the seasons to change.  Fall is my favorite season!  Looking forward to cooler weather and everything pumpkin!

I'm sharing a fall layout today, made with the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane collection.  This collection has got to be one of my all time favorite Fall collections, I love the papers and the B sides are seriously amazing too!

I started this layout by cutting my background cut file out of white cardstock paper.  I splashed some white paint and black ink against my polka dot background paper and set aside to dry.

Then I cut out lots of fun patterned paper squares, printed and cut my photo, then added lots of embellies. 

The arrows in this collection are some of my all time favorite embellishments, just can't get enough!

The Cut Shoppe | Bon Apetit!

Hi Everyone,

I have a layout to share with you today using the Get To The Point 12x12 cut file from The Cut Shoppe!

To create my layout, I cut the background out of white cardstock paper.  I then placed the yellow patterned paper behind it.  I printed a small instagram photo and layered it on top of tabs and tags.  I splattered black ink across the page and then embellished with lots of bits and pieces.

The Cut Shoppe Design Team!

The Cut Shoppe made their Design Team announcement on their blog today, and I am excited to share that I will be continuing on for their next term as their Social Media Director!  I will be taking a step back from designing for the term so that I can focus on a few other projects in the works!  
I'm looking forward to working with these lovely ladies this term and showcasing their talents on Social Media!

The Cut Shoppe | Be Awesome

Hello!  I have a simple and fun layout to share with you today using the Trippy Triangles cut file and the Words To Live By cut file!  As soon as I saw the new Happy Things collection from Pinkfresh Studio, I knew I just had to use it along with the Trippy Triangles background!

How To:  I arranged a couple of triangles from the Trippy Triangles cut file and the "Be Awesome" title onto my workspace in Silhouette Studio and cut them out of 12x12 white cardstock.  After my cut was complete I adhered patterned paper to the backside of "awesome" and my triangle cuts.

I then printed a 4x6 photo and placed it behind the "Be" word.  I used a needle and black thread to hand stitch around my cut out triangles.  I then adhered acrylic triangle pieces (from the collection) and a couple of hand cut triangles around my design.  I flicked black spray mist across my page, and finished by adhering wood veneer pieces and puffy stickers.

How To:  Cut background from White 12x12 Cardstock using the Silhouette Cameo.  Cut pieces of patterned paper to fit background using Shimelle True Stories collection.  Back White 12x12 background cut with a piece of white 12x12 white background paper.  Adhere cut pieces from Shimelle True Stories collection in negative pieces.  Adhere all pieces down.  Print a small photo measuring 4x2 and back with Shimelle True Stories sunray overlay.  Adhere to left hand side of page.  Adhere die cuts, wood veneer and cardstock stickers to page.  Finish by adding date stamp and cork sticker to page.

Hello Hello

Hi, I have a new layout to share with you today for The Cut Shoppe using The Love Club cut file.  I love using repeated patterns on my layouts.  I chose to use the "hello" word from this set to create a repeated pattern on my layout.

How To:  Flick white paint across a striped patterned paper background, set aside to dry.  Using Silhouette studio cut the "hello" word word five times from five different pieces of patterned paper.  Adhere notebook piece of paper to right side of a layout, use a tiny attacher to staple it down.  Print a small photo and adhere on top.  Trim a small strip from an overlay and adhere to right hand side of notebook paper.  Apply adhesive to wood veneer piece and adhere it to the bottom right hand side of layout just underneath the photo.  Adhere "focus on the happy" sticker on top.  Stamp the phrase "make it happen" in white ink across the page.  Adhere wood veneer clouds and die cut cloud to page.  Finish by adding machine stitching to a couple of the words.

The Cut Shoppe | Dream Big

I'm super excited to share this new layout with you today for The Cut Shoppe.  Have you seen the brand new I Heart String Art cut file set in the shop?  The 5 files (cloud, house, star, heart and arrow) make great embellishments for your layouts, cut just the way they are.  But, you can also use them as templates to create your own string art, as I did on my layout today.

To create my string art layout I used the I Heart String Art cut file as a template.  I enlarged the arrow shape and then cut it out with my Silhouette.  I placed the template over my background paper and then used a hole piercer to poke holes.  After all of my holes had been pierced I began to string the design with black embroidery thread.  I used my template as a visual guide so I would know where to thread each string.  I used the same template to make three arrows.  After my string art design was complete, I finished my page, by adding my photo and embellishments.  I love the look of the three bold arrows.  Super easy and makes a great impact!

American Crafts | Love You

How to:

Use a die cutting machine to to cut out a large "Love" title out of white cardstock.  Using a circle punch, punch out several circle pieces from various pieces of patterned papers. Run adhesive along the front of the large "Love" title.  Layer the circle punched pieces into rows and adhere down to title.  Print a small photo and cut to fit within the "O" shape in the love title.  Drop droplets of paint and ink across a kraft cardstock background.  Adhere "Love" title and photo onto cardstock background.  Using a sewing machine and black thread, stitch around the the large "Love" title.  Trim the banner words "This Is My Fave" from Celebrate Patterned paper.  Place a strip of washi tape along the bottom left hand side of title.  Layer banner words on top.  Spell out the word "You" with gold foil heart thickers and adhere to bottom right hand side of the letter "E".  Embellish the page with ephemera pieces, stickers and confetti pieces.

I'm popping in today to share a recent layout that I made using Silhouette sketch pens!!

Supplies: Silhouette America: cut files, sketch pens, silhouette cameo machine; American Crafts: papers, stickers, rub ons, date stamp; Studio Calico: wood veneer pieces, Mister Huey's inky black spray mist; Other: watercolors, sewing machine, thread

I used the Silhouette glitter sketch pens to sketch the stars and word circles.  After they dried, I colored in several pieces with watercolors.  I adhered the pieces down to my layout using my sewing machine, and then added drops of spray mist, stickers and embellishments.

I had a lot of fun using the glitter sketch pens to create this Epic layout!

Happy | The Cut Shoppe

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to share a new layout with you using the Doo-Dads cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

To create my layout I took the happy file (included in the Doo-Dads cut file set) and opened it in my Silhouette Studio software program.  I used a copy + paste option to repeat the pattern 9 times and then cut the file from patterned paper.
