Pink Paislee | Thickers

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hello and welcome today!  I have a couple of cards to share with you today using Thickers and bits and pieces from the Fancy Free collection.

Cards with Thickers #ppfancyfree | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

The thickers in the Fancy Free collection are lovely. I decided to use the fancy glitter foam thickers to use as sentiments on my cards.

To create my first card I hand cut geometric shapes from patterned paper #06. This is the paper filled with lots of squares. Perfect for patterned piecing. I arranged the geometric shapes onto my card face and then used my sewing machine to stitch them down.

For my second card, I used a cut file called Film Club Background cut file by Paige Evans sold at Studio Calico. The heart shape originally had more pieces, but I cut it down to size us use on my card front.

I used the same patterned paper that I used on my first card (#06) to fill in the heart shape. I dipped a paint brush in white paint and splattered it across my card face. I added the cut file, thickers sentiment , some loose string and a few other embellishments from the collection.

What creative uses do you have for using Thickers? We would love for you to share them with us on the Pink Paislee Facebook page.

Pink Paislee String Art DIY

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi everyone!  Do you love string art?  I  want to share with you today how I used the string art heart template from Pink Paislee to create this DIY art piece for my scrap room.

tring Art #ppfancyfree | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

Did you know that you can use the string art templates on more surfaces than just paper?  I have been a long time lover of all things string art.  I've created lots of scrapbook layouts and cards over the years using string art, and decided that it would be fun to make my own hanging decor.

String Art #ppfancyfree | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

First, I purchased the wooden sign from my local craft store, and then I used tape to adhere my template to it.  This step really comes in handy so that your template does not slip or move when you are making the holes.

Next, I used a pencil to make a small mark where each nail should go.  After I made my marks, I removed the template so that I could position my nails.

I used small panel nails for this project. One at a time I positioned each nail where my marks were, and used a small hammer to pound them in.

Once all of your nails are in place, just use the string (included with the template) and follow the guidelines (on the template) to create your own one of a kind piece.

I randomly added beads to my string before tying each line down.  Once my piece was strung, I added the Thicker phrase word sticker "wander" and an arrow.  I finished by adding a few chipboard  stickers to the design.

Pink Paislee | Adding Watercolors To Paige Kits

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi everyone I'm excited to share a special layout with you today using the Paige kits from the Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection.  The Paige kits in the Fancy Free collection are a great way to create a fun layout in little time.

Paige Kits #ppfancyfree | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

I loved the die cut paper in the Geo Paige kit.  I decided that I wanted to brighten up my page and add to it by placing watercolors behind the die cut paper.  To do this, I painted watercolors onto watercolor paper and set aside to dry.

Paige Kits #ppfancyfree | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

Once dry, I cut the watercolors into small pieces and placed behind my die cut paper.  I specifically chose colors that would coordinate with the Fancy Free collection.

Once, the watercolor pieces were in place.  I swapped out the background paper that came with the kit, and used a brightly colored paper (#12) from the collection instead.  I love that this paper, adds to the watercolor effect.

Next, I added my photo, some embellishments from the Geo Paige kit, and I combined them with other embellishments from the collection.

I hope that you have enjoyed my take on the Paige kit today and that I have inspired you to create with your own.

Pink Paislee | Mix n' Match

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

I hope that you are enjoying the projects that the Pink Paislee team has shared so far in Mix'n'Match week!  I'm sharing a layout using pieces from the C'est La Vie and Fancy Free collections.

Mix And Match #ppfancyfree #ppcestlavie | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

Pattern piecing is one of my favorite techniques. I love mixing patterns and colors together. When I saw this beautiful pink paper with a hexagon print from the C'est La Vie collection, I knew right away just how I wanted to use it.

Mix And Match #ppfancyfree #ppcestlavie | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

With a pencil and a piece of tracing paper, I measured the the size of the hexagons on the background paper. Then I hand cut several pieces of patterned paper from the C'est La Vie and Fancy Free collections into small hexagons. I used the background paper as a template for my cut pieces.

Mix And Match #ppfancyfree #ppcestlavie | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

I added several puffy stickers and a paper clip from the C'est La Vie collection, as well as puffy stickers, ephemera, and buttons from the Fancy Free collection. I love how well these two collections coordinate together. Do you like to mix and match more than one collection together while working on a project? If so, we would love for you to share it with us on the Pink Paislee Facebook Page!

Pink Paislee | Spring

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi friends, welcome!  We are celebrating Spring week over on the Pink Paislee blog! So many of the colors, papers, and embellishments in the Fancy Free collection remind me of spring.

Spring #ppfancyfree | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

When I first saw this floral paper in the collection, I fell in love with the flowers immediately. I couldn't wait to cut them apart.

1920c

I fussy cut them and layered them against a light blue background paper. Next, I dipped a paint brush in white paint and splashed paint across the page. After the paint was dry, I printed a small photo and added it to my page. I chose the chipboard piece "Colorful" and ephemera piece "wonderful day" to create my title. I love how happy the title looks and helps to bring out other colors on the page.

Because there is so much going on in the center of my layout I decided to leave the left and right side of the page mostly blank (white space). I finished the page by adding some chipboard elements, buttons, and layered stickers.

What ideas do you have for incorporating spring photos onto your layouts?

New Pink Paislee C'est La Vie Notebook | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

I started by dedicating the first section as my Hello Today section, this is my introductory page into 2o16, and is a section where I can jot down goals and aspirations for the year ahead.

New Pink Paislee C'est La Vie Notebook | @gina_lideros for @pinkpaislee

The Ooh La La page is a transparent page with a photo of my daughter underneath, I will use this section to jot down her growth and challenges throughout the year.  IE - she just got her very first job, so I know she has goals for saving for college and for her first car.

Pink Paislee | Go 3D!

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hi everyone, I hope you have been enjoying all the creative ways our talented team has created bold titles all week.  I am sharing a layout today that has a repeating 3D title that also doubles as my background.

I have had this cut file for a long time now and was waiting for a chance to use it in a unique way.  I thought that a layout about my Valentine was the perfect fit!  To create my layout I first cut out my background using my Silhouette.  This cut file was designed by Barbara Picinich for Studio Calico.  I was designed to only cut half of each letter, so that you fold over the other half and have a 3d title!  Genius!

Because I love patterned paper,  I cut additional X’s and O’s out of various pieces and then adhered them to each popped out piece.  I love the way the title came out but I also love the acetate and gold dipped chipboard in the C’est La Vie collection, so I added those too!  To finish I splashed ink and paint across the page, added my photo and a few other embellishments.  I hope that you enjoyed my post today and that you are inspired to create your own layout for Valentine’s Day!
