Pink Paislee | Receipt Holder

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of http://canoncreativegirl.blogspot.com/.  I do receive financial compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

I recently put together this altered receipt holder using the Pink Paislee Atlas collection and wanted to share it with you!

This was such a fun project to put together!  And such a rare moment, to get great pictures of my son!  He hates to take photos and 90% 0f my projects are usually of my daughter because she is the total opposite of him, she loves to take photos, lol!

I simply printed four small black and white photos of my son Matthew and adhered to them to tags, frames, and bits and pieces from the Atlas collection.  I added some simple machine stitching with white thread, and left the ends long to add a homemade effect.

To complete my project I added some chipboard stickers and extra cardstock pieces, also from the Atlas collection.

This project is sure to brighten up my office!  Thanks for looking today!

Good Morning everyone!  Welcome to another installment of the Atlas Summer Series with Pink Paislee.
Today I am sharing a layout about capturing a moment at the park.  I took lots of photos on this day of my son playing at the park and enjoying a nice open field, but this one is my favorite.  The clouds were so prominent in the sky, the sunshine was warm and there was a nice cool breeze in the air.  I captured this photo of my son, stopping for a moment to take it all in.
Park days in the Summer are sometimes hard to come by in Northern California, some days are just to hot to go out and play.  On this particular day the weather was nice, and I love that this photo truly encapsulates him enjoying nature.

To create my layout, I started off by cutting a diamond background with my Silhouette Cameo.  I used my background as a template, and placed it over my page.  I cut several 1/2" squares using my machine and filled in the blanks (leaving some open and space for my photo).  A fun diamond background also calls for a diamond shaped photo.  I used a ruler and paper trimmer to cut my photo and then added it to my page.
I love lots of little details on my pages!  So I added drops of Heidi Swapp Coral Color Shine, machine stitching, puffy stickers, ephemera and chipboard stickers to my page.

If you would like to learn how to recreate this layout step by step, you can download the sheet on the Pink Paislee blog to learn more.

Pink Paislee Summer Adventure Series: Let's Go

We usually go somewhere where we can hike, camp or see the beach during our summer vacation.  These photos are from a trip to  Valley of Fire, that we took in 2012.  We were so taken back by the scenery and areas to hike.  I brought my camera phone and my DSLR, so that we could be sure to capture photos on our trip.

Summer Adventure Series! @pinkpaislee @gina_lideros pinkpaislee ppAtlas ScrapbookingTo create my layout, I cut the background from a background cut file using the Silhouette Cameo and then backed each circular piece with various pieces of patterned papers from the Atlas 12x12 paper pad.  The inspiration came to me when I was thinking about a countdown to Summer, and loved the numbers and icons on this cut file.

I splattered white paint across the navy side of the Latitude paper (included in the 12x12 paper pad), before adhering it to some of the circular pieces.  I also hand cut a tag from Altitude paper (yellow stars) and tucked it behind the number 5 circle before adhering down.

To add a handmade feel to the page, I used a needle and white embroidery floss to hand stitch around the heart and ampersand circles.

To finish off my layout, I sprinkled Navy color shine spray mist across the page and embellished with stickers, tags and ephemera pieces.  I hope you use the Atlas collection to document some of your favorite summer memories.  The colors and theme of the collection is perfect for documenting those memories!

Scrapbook Circle | Explore

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of  http://www.scrapbookcircle.com/blog.  I do receive  material product from Scrapbook Circle to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

One of my favorite pieces included in the Scrapbook Circle Have a Little Fun Today kit is the acrylic word "explore".

I created my background using a cut file made by the fabulous Paige Evans for Studio Calico.  I backed my cut file with different pieces of patterned papers included in the main kit.  I specifically chose papers from the Pink Paislee Atlas collection because they work so well together.

I placed the acrylic "explore" word underneath my photo.  Because the word is translucent you can still see the design behind the word.

If you haven't already, make sure that you pick up this fun kit today!

Pink Paislee | With You

The papers and embellishments in the Atlas collection from Pink Paislee are not only great for travel photos, they are great for documenting those everyday memories too!  I created a family layout with this collection and added lots of little details.

To start off this layout, I went through the collection and picked out pieces that would fit the family theme of my layout.  I chose bits and pieces that would work with my photo.  The "X Marks the Spot" tag fit perfectly with the photo of my daughter and her cousins tickling each other, so I just had to include it.

I chose to use a background cut file for my layout.  I added lots of cut pieces to the background  and then added detail by adding die cut pieces, chipboard pieces, tags, ink and stitching.

Another great way to add lots of detail to your layout is layering.  I layered tags, and die cut pieces around my photo.

For my journaling I added some typed text to a tag and tucked it behind my photo.  The tag can easily be pulled out to read the journaling.

I cannot say enough about how amazing the patterns and colors of the pattern papers are to work with.  The embellishments are a perfect touch to add beautiful detail to your layouts.

Scrapbook Circle | Today

Tags, tags, tags!  I just can't get enough of them.   They make great embellishments, they are great for journaling, and they make a big impact on projects when they are all strung together!  For this month's designer choice layout, I decided to create a layout for Scrapbook Circle this month featuring tags!

To create my layout I used the June Have a Little Fun Today kit with the June Add-on List Keeper

I placed a gray tag (included in the main kit) behind my white cardstock base and then strung a line of Pink Paislee travel tags across the top of the page.  I used a sewing machine to stitch them down.

I added some light stamping, a few drops of yellow spray mist and a few embellishments to finish off the page.

Have you played with tags on a layout?  How about a card or pocket page?  We would love for you to share it with us on our Facebook Page.  Thanks for looking!

Pink Paislee and Page Maps

The Pink Paislee team has teamed up with PageMaps this month to bring you the June 2015 PageMaps!!  I was so excited when I got my sketch, I love working with Becky's sketches!

Here is the sketch Becky sent me to work with:

Here is the layout that I made based on the sketch using the fabulous Atlas collection.

I stuck pretty close to the overall theme of the sketch.  One thing I did change was using using tags in place of the three bottom photos.  Have I mentioned that I love everything about the Atlas collection?  There are so many wonderful pieces, I found it hard to choose a few and not over embellish my page.  I grouped stars from the ephemera pack along with cork star stickers to the top of the page.  I added a few drops of Heidi Swapp Navy spray mist, typed journaling and some light machine stitching.  I found the sketch was really easy and fun to work with and I just love the outcome!

Here are a few detail shots.

Make sure to stop over at the PageMaps page to see what the rest of the Design Team made, and while you're there, leave a comment for your chance to win the entire Atlas collection!

Pink Paislee | Vacation

The new Atlas collection from Pink Paislee is perfect for scrapping those vacation photos!

As soon as I saw the captain foil on vellum from the Atlas collection, I just knew I'd have to use it on my layout.  I cut a large corner piece and adhered it to my layout to start my page.

The design of this layout revolved around the photo of my daughter on the beach during our Summer vacation.  I used a frame from the 4x4 Insta kit to frame my photo.  I added pieces from the Ephemera pack, Puffy Sticker pack and Chipboard Sticker pack to embellish my page.

I added a few splashes of spray mist across my page, some light machine stitching and the title "Vacation" (from the cork sticker pack) to finish off my page.
