You & Me - American Crafts April Gallery Layout

Hi everyone,
Good afternoon!  Wow, the month of April sure flew by fast.  I can't believe it is going to be May this week.  I have a layout to share with you today for the American Crafts April gallery.

The first layout that I made for the gallery is of my two adorable nieces.  Sophia is 5 and baby Olivia is 8 weeks.  They make the perfect subjects to scrap!

You and Me Layout

To create my layout, I started by cutting a 12x12 background with my Silhouette Cameo, then I used it as a mask to spray mist the background.  I also cut a few additional pieces (the same size as the drops in the mask) out of Amy Tangerine Plus One paper, and used a sewing machine to sew them down.

I used a mix of Amy Tangerine Plus One, Cut and Paste, Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic, SC Printshop, SC Lemon Lush and Crate Paper Oh Darling on my layout.  I love being able to mix and match the lines that AC and their sub companies make.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will be back tomorrow with another new layout :)  Have a good one!

LPS Sketch September

Hi friends!
I hope you all are enjoying a nice start to your weekend.  Today is the day to share with you the September Sketch Challenge over at Life.Paper.Scrapbook.  I love that this sketch boasts lots of layers, totally fun!

Here is what I created..

Sun and Sand Layout

I was inspired by all the fun layers in the sketch to cut strips of pattern paper and layer it behind a sequin vellum pocket.  I  used the Pier collection by Crate paper on this layout, it has been a favorite of mine lately.

This month's sponsor is Polly! Scrap Kits..

We have a blog filled with inspiration for using your kit each month and with a subscription you know you will get a monthly box goodies that will bring a smile to your face when you open it and some motivation to get creating.
This year we will be offering a December Daily kit and our Design team is going to show you how to make use of it, whether you want to use it for a daily mini album, incorporated into your regular project life, or to make 12x12 layouts for your traditional scrapbook album. We will have inspiration several times a week to scrap along with you and use the kit together from late November right through to early January, so you will be motivated and inspired to get started, keep going and to finish your December projects!
Polly scrap Kits will be giving one randomly selected participant in the LPS Sketch challenge a free Project Life kit. In addition, based on the submissions to this challenge, Polly! will be inviting one person to be a guest designer for an upcoming kit, we will send you the kit for free that month and feature your work using the kit on our blog and facebook page, so please show us your best work in your challenge submissions!
You can submit ANY kind of project that you can use the sketch for: layouts, cards, PL, off the page projects
- You can use the sketch and colour challenges together, just make sure you link it up to each so you have a chance to win in both.
- September Sketch Challenge runs until 11.59pm 27 September. (Don't forget we are in Australia)
- The winner of the prize will be randomly drawn
- We will also feature three of the favourite layouts and the selected layouts will be asked to guest design for the next colour challenge.

You have to be in it to win it, so link up your project up on the right over at LPS. Please make sure you link to the correct challenge, there is both a sketch and colour challenge to link up to. If you are linking to a blog, please link to the actual post the layout is featured in, not just the general address and make sure you link back to Life.Paper.Scrapbook.

Beach Fun

Hi everyone,

Wow, I just realized that it has been over a week since I have blogged.  We have been busy with the kids starting back to school and getting back into a routine, etc.  I have a fun layout to share with you today.  A couple of weeks ago I took the kids to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  We played on the beach all day and then walked along the boardwalk and rode the rides in the evening.  Here is a quick layout that I made using one of our pictures from the beach.

Beach Fun Layout

I am loving the confetti, sequins and vellum trend.  This layout came together quickly after I decided to cut strips of vellum and sew them up as pockets.

Papers and embellishments are from Crate's "The Pier" collection.  They were perfect for my beach themed layout and made this layout come together quickly.
Thanks for stopping by today, I will be back tomorrow with a new layout for Bella Blvd using their new CHA Snapshots line (love)!

Kindred spirits

Hi Friends,

I have a sweet card that I would like to share with you today, using the new Vintedge collection and fundamentals vellum from Ruby Rock-it designs!

Kindered spirits card:

The sentiment "kindred spirits" is from a Fundamentals rub on sheet. As soon as I saw the sentiment I thought it would be fun to use on a card for a friend that is with you in spirit but may live far away.

To add texture to my card, I added some burlap that I found at my craft supply and a feather and a vintage button.

I used a punch to punch out two butterflies from vellum and adhered them to the tag. I love the pattern on this vellum and how it adds a sense of delicacy to the card.

supplies:

Ruby Rock-it: Vintedge paper, paper twine; Fundamentals: vellum and rub on sentiment

ink: dark brown (clear snap)

other: burlap, vintage button, feather (craft supply)
