American Crafts DT August Gallery layouts

Hi everyone,

I have a couple of Gallery layouts to share with you today using the brand new Shimelle collection from American Crafts.  This brand new collection arrived on my doorstep last week and I was so excited that I dove right in!

First day of School
How to:  I used a waterbrush to lightly paint my background paper with light blue watercolor paint.  Next I used the American Crafts Knockouts triangle punch 1.5" and 2" to punch out pieces of pattern paper from a 6x6 Shimelle paper pad.

New

This was my first experiment with brush script.  I'm kind of a neat freak about my handwriting so it was a little hard for me to let go with this.

How to:  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a large heart on my background paper, then cut strips of paper from the Shimelle collection to fill it.  After it was filled, I used a sewing machine to stitch around the outside of the heart and then painted the outline and title before adding embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my monthly gallery layouts.  I will be back again tomorrow for the first American Crafts 2014-2015 blog hop!

American Crafts 2014-2015 Design Team!

I have been bursting with excitement to share my new news with you.  I have been asked to join the American Crafts Design Team for a second year, and I couldn't be happier.

Heather Leopard, Nicole Samuels, Paige Evans

I feel so lucky to have been asked back!  I thought that in honor of my happy news today that I would share a few of my favorite layouts that I have created over the past year for them.

I put together a few grouped shots of some of my favorites.  Looking back at all of these layouts bring back so many fun memories.

Also, looking back at these layouts all grouped together makes me realize that I have a signature style.  I tend to always start off my AC layouts with a white, blue, gray or green base.  Then I add spray mist or watercolors and lots of yummy pattern papers.

I have really enjoyed creating these layouts over the past year.

I can't wait to see what the new year will bring!

#Summer *American Crafts July Gallery

Hi Everyone,

I have a layout to share with you today that I made for the American Crafts July Gallery.

I had this fun picture that I took when we recently visited the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  The ride was called Sea Swings and I loved the bright colors and shape - so I just had to snap a pic!

I started out my page by punching out paper squares and then folding two sides inwards, I love this technique and the texture it adds.  I added some machine stitching, stickers and embellishments to finish it off.

American Crafts DT May Gallery

Hi everyone!

I have some projects to share with you today that I made for the American Crafts DT May Gallery.  I love that we are able to mix and match their collections, including collections from their other brands.  Here are two layouts that I made using the wonderful Studio Calico Wanderlust collection ~ So fun!

Wonder

Photo of my Daughter and her friends on promotion day from Jr. High - to High School.  I can't believe it has been a year already, she is finishing up the school year tomorrow and then it is on to her Sophomore year.

I used the Wanderlust collection again on my second layout and threw in some Maggie Holmes Styleboard brads ~ love those!

Pretty Clever

This is layout is about my niece Miranda.  This photo was taken shortly after her graduation from high school and now she is studying at UC Santa Cruz.  I'm so proud of her and feeling so old.  Really where does the time go?

I hope you enjoyed my layouts today~

Run Dog Run - American Crafts April Gallery Layout

Hi everyone,

As promised I am back again today to share another gallery layout that I made for American Crafts this month.

The second layout that I created this month is of my dog Kona.  We took her to some open land where we could let her run free off the leash.  I love her expression as she is running wildly free.

Run Dog Run Layout

To begin my layout, I punched several stars (using the 2" star punch by American Crafts) out of Amy Tangerine Plus One papers.  I also cut several larger stars using my Silhouette Cameo.  I then adhered them onto white cardstock in a diagonal fashion.

I added lots of fun embellishments (rub ons, wood veneers, vellum stickers, puffy stickers, enamel dots and some spray mist too.

Thanks for stopping by again today!  Join us for the American Crafts National Scrapbook Day blog hop this Saturday May 3rd.

You & Me - American Crafts April Gallery Layout

Hi everyone,
Good afternoon!  Wow, the month of April sure flew by fast.  I can't believe it is going to be May this week.  I have a layout to share with you today for the American Crafts April gallery.

The first layout that I made for the gallery is of my two adorable nieces.  Sophia is 5 and baby Olivia is 8 weeks.  They make the perfect subjects to scrap!

You and Me Layout

To create my layout, I started by cutting a 12x12 background with my Silhouette Cameo, then I used it as a mask to spray mist the background.  I also cut a few additional pieces (the same size as the drops in the mask) out of Amy Tangerine Plus One paper, and used a sewing machine to sew them down.

I used a mix of Amy Tangerine Plus One, Cut and Paste, Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic, SC Printshop, SC Lemon Lush and Crate Paper Oh Darling on my layout.  I love being able to mix and match the lines that AC and their sub companies make.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will be back tomorrow with another new layout :)  Have a good one!

#Spring Break American Crafts March Gallery layout

Hi friends,
Hope you are having a great Monday so far.  It is is cold and rainy here and we are just itching for some warmer weather.  Last week I received a fun box from American Crafts filled with their brand new #Summer collection.  This collection is so fun and bright and filled with cheer.  Even though this collection is summer themed I thought it would be fun to use them on a spring break layout of my daughter and her friends.

#Spring Break

I started off my layout by cutting several tag shapes with my Silhouette Cameo and adhered them in rows to my layout.  Next, I painted a heart using white paint and then stitched over it using embroidery floss.

I finished off my layout by adding my photo journaling card and lots of fun embellishments.

I hope you enjoy my layout today, thanks for stopping by!

American Crafts February Gallery layout / Matt Man

***If you are looking for the American Crafts blog hop go here ***

Hi everyone,
I have another fun layout to share today for the American Crafts February Gallery.  Once again, I used the super fun papers and embellishments from the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection.   I recently bought these fun hand drawn stars from Two Peas and after cutting a few, was totally inspired to create a background out of them.

Matt Man layout

I love the plain chipboard thickers in this collection.  They look great by themselves or you can spruce them up.

I added some stamping with Plus One stamps and Hero Arts white shadow ink (my favorite).  This layout came together quickly after adding a few sequins and wood embellishments.  So fun!
supplies: American Crafts: (Plus One Collection) Accompany Large clear acrylic stamps, Mixtape, matte puffy accent stickers, Bits, flair adhesive badges, natural chipboard thickers, peer paper, match paper, doubles paper, counterpart paper; Studio Calico: wood veneer stars (Printshop)

and here is my take on it:
