Beach Fun Scrapbook Circle

Hi Everyone!  I wanted to share a fun step by step tutorial of how I put a recent page together using the fabulous Scrapbook Circle Island Paradise kit.

Beach Fun Layout
Gina_Lideros_Beach_Fun_SBC

1.  I started my page out by creating a background in Silhouette Studio.  I lined up simple triangles to create my background. Once, I had my background put together the way I wanted it, I ungrouped my shapes to cut each piece individually.

2.  After cutting each shape out of different pieces of patterned paper, I lined them up on my page using repositionable tape.  Tip: I also cut a few pieces where I wanted my photos to go, so that I could use them as a guide for sizing (like a template).

3. Select photos for your layout.  I purposely selected photos that were smaller in scale, so that I knew that they would fit within my template.

4.  Use extra triangle pieces as a template for your photos, trace around them and cut out.

5.  After placing my photos on my layout, I used my sewing machine to stitch all of my pieces in place.

6.  Add embellishments and you're done!

The Sights & Sounds of Santa Cruz

Hi everyone,

Popping in today to share a layout that I made with Scrapbook Circle's August Kit Island Paradise. One of my favorite things about this kit is the awesome alphas included in the kit.  I decided to showcase the alphas on my layout.

Santa Cruz Beach Layout

I recently went with my family on a day trip to Santa Cruz beach.  We spent a lot of time on the boardwalk where the kids got wristbands and rode the rides.  This ferris wheel along the boardwalk caught my eye and I couldn't resist snapping a few pics.  I loved how this close up shot turned out so much that I decided to enlarge it and use it on my page.

I love mixed matched titles, and I think they add so much fun and interest to a page.  To create my mixed matched title, I layered some Elle's Studio tags along the top right hand side and then added in Scrapbook Circles exclusive cork die cut, and Basic Grey Grand Bazaar chipboard alpha's.

I also used the Bungalow and Tiki Torch add ons on my page (flair, HS card, chipboard pieces, stickers).  Overall, I had so much fun with this kit and I think you will too.  Stop by Scrapbook Circle today to pick one up.

American Crafts 2014-2015 Design Team!

I have been bursting with excitement to share my new news with you.  I have been asked to join the American Crafts Design Team for a second year, and I couldn't be happier.

Heather Leopard, Nicole Samuels, Paige Evans

I feel so lucky to have been asked back!  I thought that in honor of my happy news today that I would share a few of my favorite layouts that I have created over the past year for them.

I put together a few grouped shots of some of my favorites.  Looking back at all of these layouts bring back so many fun memories.

Also, looking back at these layouts all grouped together makes me realize that I have a signature style.  I tend to always start off my AC layouts with a white, blue, gray or green base.  Then I add spray mist or watercolors and lots of yummy pattern papers.

I have really enjoyed creating these layouts over the past year.

I can't wait to see what the new year will bring!

#Summer *American Crafts July Gallery

Hi Everyone,

I have a layout to share with you today that I made for the American Crafts July Gallery.

Sea Swings

I had this fun picture that I took when we recently visited the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  The ride was called Sea Swings and I loved the bright colors and shape - so I just had to snap a pic!

I started out my page by punching out paper squares and then folding two sides inwards, I love this technique and the texture it adds.  I added some machine stitching, stickers and embellishments to finish it off.

supplies: supplies: Beach Towel Paper (SUMDS-66954) - #Summer, Bicycles Paper (SUMDS-66949) - #Summer,  Smile Paper (SUMDS-66952) - #Summer, Sunglasses Paper (SUMDS-66955) - #Summer, Swimsuits Paper (SUMDS-66956) - #Summer, Heat Wave Paper (SUMDS-66950) -#Summer,  Popsicles  Paper (SUMDS-66951) - #Summer  Road Trip Paper (SUMDS-66948) - #Summer,  Blue Skies Paper (SUMDS-66953) -#Summer, Catch a Wave Paper (SUMDS-66958) - #Summer, Cold Treats Paper (SUMDS-66957) - #Summer, Wood Veneer Shapes #Summer Collection (366964) - Bits, Self Adhesive Cork Shapes  #Summer Collection (366965) - Remarks, Transparent Letter Stickers Yes, Please (42365) - Remarks

My Second layout that I made for the gallery this month uses a basic grid design.  I use a lot of textures, patterns and shapes on my projects and sometimes it's nice just to go back to a basic, simple grid design.

#Summer

I centered my layout around this photo of a lifeguard station that I took on the beach and built my grid design around it.

I added one of American Crafts fun photo overlays on top of my picture, some machine stitching and some fun embellishments.

supplies: White (AM710-81)- Cardstock, #Summer 6x6 (366984) - Paper Pads, Wood Veneer Shapes #Summer Collection (366964) - Bits, Self Adhesive Cork Shapes  #Summer Collection (366965) - Remarks, #Summer Flair Adhesive Badges Picnic (366966) - Flair, #Summer Die Cut Acrylic Shapes Ice Cream (366968) - Bits, #Summer Die-Cut Shapes Sunscreen (366971) - Bits, #Summer Photo Overlays Shades (366969) - Bits, #Summer Matchbook Journaling and Phrases (366963) - Remarks, Punch Star 2" (KOP63114) - Knockouts,

Mix and Match Layouts with American Crafts

Hi Everyone,
I hope that you are having a great week so far.  I had a couple of layouts that went up on the American Crafts Blog yesterday.  For my assignment this month I was asked to mix and match some of the AC collections.  I chose to mix and match the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer and Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste collections because I love the way their colors and patterns mix together.

Sweet Layout

I love to mix and match the American Crafts collections.  It is an easy way to create a whole different look and really stretch your supplies.  To create this layout I started with X File cut  from The Cut Shoppe and added lots of fun patterned papers behind.

I added some fun stitching (both by hand and by sewing machine) and some ink mist and a few embellishments.
Supplies: Seafoam (AM710-566) - Cardstock, White (AM710-81) - Cardstock, Dear Lizzy Daydreamer 6x6 (366767) - Paper Pads, Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste (366086) - Paper Pads, Dear Lizzy Wood Epoxy Buttons (366796) - Daydreamer, Amy Tangerine Plus One Twins Font/Black Foam (366837) - Thickers, Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste Printed Chipboard Cut Out Accents (366060) - Thickers, Jacks Paper (366755) - Daydreamer, Marbles Paper (366749) - Daydreamer, Bike Ride Paper (366751) - Daydreamer, Flying Kites Paper (366754) - Daydreamer, Hide N Seek Paper (366746) - Daydreamer, Paper Planes Paper (366748) - Daydreamer, Red Rover Paper (366744) - Daydreamer, See Saw Paper (366758) - Daydreamer, Treasure Hunt Paper (366752) - Daydreamer, Blossom Paper (366042) - Cut and Paste, Heart Throb Paper (366034) - Cut and Paste, Infatuation Paper (366030) - Cut and Paste, On The Edge Paper (366043) - Cut and Paste, Postmarked Paper (366044) - Cut and Paste, Section 1 Paper (366033) - Cut and Paste, Grainy Goodness Paper (366049) - Cut and Paste, Studio Calico Fabric Bows (331994) - Wanderlust, Studio Calico Round Epoxy Top Clips (331865) - Lemonlush, Misting Spray Inky Black (SC1-31064) - Mister Huey's, This to That (AM617-13) - Adhesive

Cherish Layout
To create my second layout, I started by adding some watercolor paint to my background and then created a fun triangle background using lots of pieces that I cut with my Silhouette.

After adhering the triangle shapes I stitched over them using a straight stitch on my sewing machine,  and repeated the pattern to make a lined background.

Supplies: White (AM710-81) - Cardstock, Dear Lizzy Wood Epoxy Buttons (366796) - Daydreamer, Amy Tangerine Plus One Twins Font/Black Foam (366837) - Thickers, Mini Adhesive Badges (366795) - Daydreamer, Daydreamer (3667760) - Accent and Phrase Stickers, Cat's Cradle Paper (366762) - Daydreamer, Dodge Ball Paper (366745) - Daydreamer, Flying Kites Paper (366754) - Daydreamer, Hide N Seek (366746) - Daydreamer, Hop Scotch Paper (366743) - Daydreamer, Hula Hoop Paper (366760) - Daydreamer, Paper Planes Paper (366748) - Daydreamer, Red Rover Paper (366744) - Daydreamer, See Saw Paper (366758) - Daydreamer, Skipping Along Paper (366761) - Daydreamer, Treasure Hunt Paper (366752) - Daydreamer, My Thoughts Exactly Paper (366052) - Cut and Paste, On The Edge Paper (366043) - Cut and Paste, Postmarked Paper (366044) - Cut and Paste, This To That (AM617-13) - Adhesive, Studio Calico Blue/Aqua Stars (332098) - Essentials, Studio Calico Red/Pink Stars (332095) - Essentials, Kal Barteski/Black Foam (PLUTH-66830) - Thickers
