Scrapbook Circle | Design Team Choice

Hi there!  I have another new layout to share with you today using the Scrapbook Circle's October Mix Tape kit and Add-ons.

September 27th, was a memorable night.  We experienced a blood moon and solar eclipse.  I took my trusty Canon 6D out for a walk and decided to shoot the moon.  I chose my favorite photo from the shoot and decided to document it on my layout using the Mix Tape kit and add-ons.  

I love using geometric shapes on layouts.  To create the background for this layout I trimmed several pieces of the patterned papers included in the main kit into squares and rectangle shapes and then adhered them to a white cardstock background.  I used my sewing machine to stitch down a few of pieces.  Then I added in extra embellishments from both of the add-on kits.

Scrapbook Circle | Take Two

Hi everyone!  I am sharing a post on the Scrapbook Circle blog today called: Take Two.  I am sharing my take on a previous layout made from Creative Team member Rebecca.  Here is her layout:

I loved the white background that Rebecca used on her layout.  I loved the mix of patterned papers and the geometric triangle shapes.

and here is my take on Rebecca's layout:

I still kept the white background and I used several triangles, just like in Rebecca's original layout.  But I moved my triangles around on my page.  I also, splattered black ink across my page and added stitching.  Like Rebecca's I added lots of little embellishments across my page using the October Mix Tape main kit and add-ons.

Scrapbook Circle | Today

Hi there!  I have a new layout to share with you today using Scrapbook Circle's October Mix Tape kit and add-ons!

This layout incorporates a couple of my favorite things!  I love playing with patterned paper, I love triangles, diamond shapes, stitching, white background paper and black ink!  

I also added embellishments from the cassette add-on and the playlist add-on.

Grateful | Scrapbook Circle

Hi everyone,

I have a layout up on the Scrapbook Circle blog today that I would like to share with you.  Every month at Scrapbook Circle they do a "lifting you" feature.  They chose a layout that was shared on their Facebook page and designate a Creative Team member to "lift" this page.

The layout that I was given to "lift" was from featured member Rebecca.

I liked the layers of the pattern paper to anchor the fanned-out pictures and the strip of embellishments along the bottom edge to hold them all together.

I used the November main kit Little Moments and the Sweetness add-on.  Instead of using paper strips of various lengths behind my photo, like in the original, I used feathers.  I also grouped embellishments around my photo and added a border around the layout.

I added a few drops of spray mist and some stitching.  The whole layout came together fairly quickly.

Crazy Cool Fun

Hi everyone!

I hope your day is off to a great start.  I have been busy working on Design team projects for American Crafts that I am not able to share yet.  So, I thought that I would post a few layouts today that I did just for fun.
I recently picked up the June kit from Scrapbook Circle.  This is such a fun kit to play with.  The mix of colors and patterned paper in kit are so on trend.

Hello There Layout

I used a circle punch to cut out some circles and then I divided them in halves and used them to create a background for my layout.  I added some stitching, a title and the fun embellishments included in the kit and my layout came together in a snap.

Be Yourself Layout

I love mixed titles, so I thought that it would be fun to create a title from the alphas and die cuts included in the kit.  

I used a Silhouette background file to cut out all the fun triangles used behind my photo.  I really had a lot of fun creating this layout with all the fun embellishments included in the kit.  I love that little lightbulb paper clip.  It is crazy cute :)

good friends...

good friends lift each other up and support each other through life's ups and downs. I am lucky to call these two special ladies my friends. I love getting together with my girlfriends Tricia Wilson and Suzy West, going out to lunch, enjoying weekends of scrapbooking, opera, and Bazooka bubblegum. Laughing at silly things with them.

I wanted to create a friendship layout that was as fun and playful as our friendship, so I chose the Paper Cottage line by Basic Grey.

Hello! I hope your Friday is off to a great start. Our week has been quite busy with the kids going back to school, trying to get back on a sleep schedule, back to school nights. Things are starting to calm down a bit and I am looking forward to a less hectic week next week. We will see how that goes.

I have a layout up on the Epiphany Crafts blog today featuring the square shape studio tool. I love this tool. Recently I shared a layout that I created for them using the square shaped studio tool and cutting the square epoxies into triangles. Well I did it again. I just can't resist!

Right here layout:

*technique: I used the Epiphany Crafts square shape studio tool as a punch (square punched pieces), and I also used it to create triangle bubblecaps.
To create your own triangle epoxies simply make your square bubble epoxy using the shape studio tool and then cut them in half diagonally.

Perfectly Content

My dogs are so cute, everyday I find them snuggled up, perfectly happy and just content being together. I love this photo that I took of Lilo and Kona snuggled up together one morning. I loved this photo so much that I decided to do a layout about them. Actually, I have used this photo before, and will probably use it again, that's how much I love it. And on mornings when I am not feeling well - you can find these two snuggled up beside me.
I went shopping on NSD at my lss and found a couple of great finds that I just could not resist. The first find was this wonderful circle lace doily stamp and white dye ink from Hero Arts and my second great find was the PB&J collection from Basic Grey. I had seen it before online, but it wasn't until I saw it in person that I completely fell in love with it. So fun!

busy day ahead...

Good morning everyone, I have a busy day ahead. My daughter and her classmates have term1 finals for 7th grade today. Can't believe the year is going by so fast! I am driving the carpool today and taking them out to Starbucks this morning for a special treat before testing. I just wanted to post a couple of quick cards before I go...
I made these quick cards for a challenge last week.

I cut the flowers on this with my Slice, and then added stitching, lace and brads. I also used Crate paper, Sassafras lass and Glitz (sticker).

Have your kids gone back to school yet? Mine will go back to school on Monday, so we have spent the last few days getting well care visits, dropping off shot records at the school office, picking up new school supplies and shopping for new clothes, backpacks and shoes. It has been a little exhausting and I will feel better after the kids go back to school and we get back into a routine again.

I wanted to share with you my first project that I made for our back to school hop. A couple of weeks ago we stopped by the Old Sacramento school house and I was able to get some fun pics of my kids sitting in an old fashioned classroom. They got to sit at the desks, write on the chalkboards, and learn about what it was like to go to school in the 1800's. So, I was so excited to get the chance to document our trip on a layout, and this is what I made:

*Tip- a quick and easy way to add interest to your page is by layering custom buttons to premade flowers. I used my button studio maker from Epiphany Crafts to make these fun buttons. Then popped them up with foam tape on top of the premade flowers.
